I have v5 firmware, is it true? A certain spot in the Sl1 hole turns the DS off? I once flashed mine and got "Flash Happy" and Flashed and unflashed for an hour...then it turned off.
So I was wondering about that one spot that turns the DS off. Is it real or not?

It has a spot near SL1, that shorts the DS to turn off when being bridged with SL1.

When you got the SL1 here:

And you bridge it like this:
(|-|)
You are flashing correctly.

But, next to SL1, you got another point, like this:
() (| |)

When you touch that during flashing, your DS will turn off:
()-(|-|)

This is more likely on a Lite than on a Phat. Since the motherboard on a lite is smaller, and the parts have smaller distances from each other. Just flash with an appropriate tool, and not with a bulky screw/this foil piece.

Right, it helps with a DSLite immensely if you use something to flash that is insulated on the sides (such as a small screwdriver with tape wrapped around it).

I did the same thing when I first heard about flashme, many years ago

But yeah there is a little spot, it's a lot harder to do it on a DS Phat for some reason, in fact I don't think I have ever had it turn off when flashing on a DS Phat.

So if I wrap a screw driver with tape around it, (except for the very tip of it) it won't turn off suddenly? (Unless I put it in the wrong slot, of course.)
