It should work, it should work for any device that output video resolution it accept.

As long the video output is something what the TV accept it will display video. Modern Android tv box use HDMI so you are fine. Like for some tv, it doesn't support 240p so you need to use an upscaler for retro unit to get to 480p to get video output.
