I was just wondering if a poke walker emu exists yet that can communicate with a legitimate HGSS cartridge
That or the original psp 1000 had an ir receiver too, would be hilarious having a pokewalker emu on the psp...1) there is no emu
2) pokewalkers use IR, so you'd have to make it run on either a TV remote, game boy color, 3DS, some ancient phone/laptop with IR, or make a save exploit for another HG/SS game (probably not happening).
Due to how the 3DS infrared driver is written, you would basically need to make that an ARM9 homebrew (to exclude the official driver) and write one yourself...3DS [...] or make a save exploit for another HG/SS game (probably not happening).

I believe the DSi won't let you hotswap carts, only the DS did.Due to how the 3DS infrared driver is written, you would basically need to make that an ARM9 homebrew (to exclude the official driver) and write one yourself...
Comparatively, it would be easier to write a DS/i homebrew that fits in memory and asks the user to swap cards with an IR one![]()
You need to reset the slot-1 after a swap: officially only the launcher can do that, but all current-generation homebrew loaders allow running apps with all permissions enabledI believe the DSi won't let you hotswap carts, only the DS did.

That's the same for emulating anything though - can't you just download the files? The most sad part of this emulators is you need original files of pokewalker, so if you dont have one, you cant emulate what doesnt make so much sense.
thats why, anyways i seen the same with pocket pikachu and now there is a project you can play it and dont need any dump. And the dump of these devices is not than easy like dump your 3ds or ds firmware nand or bios files, also is required other device in this case a DS to dump it so is not only own the device you need to own extra devices. That's the same for emulating anything though - can't you just download the files?
Or is there no dump shared online at all?
sure, but no need to dump it yourself! but... after looking, I can't seem to find a dump.thats why, anyways i seen the same witrh pocket pikachu and now there is a project you can play it and dont need any dump.
