Gaming Do you use the 3D effect on the 3DS?

What are 1) your system and 2) the most common position of its 3D slider (while playing 3DS games)?

Always full on 3D, since the original 3DS, luckily my eyes adjust to it easily without strain. Always loved the 3D effect and the headtracking on the new 3DS is just a cherry on top.

I just wish more games would utilize its effects to the fullest.

I am not sure I like 3D, yet. I'm using 3DS XL. It is very neat, but I have to hold very still and concentrate in order to see it. The slightest twitch of hand or head and I'm seeing double again. I usually keep the slider in the middle, max. seems to give me a headache.

AFAIK, I do not have any complicated eye problems. Just a bit nearsighted, worse on the left eye. Never been good with binoculars or those double-barreled microscopes in bio lab.

I don't mess with the 3D. I've toyed with it but I could see it giving me a headache and I get enough of those from my sons lol.

I don't know...

I kinda like how things look with the 3D effect enabled in some games, but games just don't run as smooth, which makes it less fun (for example Pokemon X/Y becomes super laggy), also it's problematic that the view angle is very critical on original 3DS XL...
So yeah it's mostly disabled :-/

Depends on the game, depends where you are. Full 3D is the best but there's a specific view angle for it to be enjoyable and in some games it doesn't really add much to the experience it seems more like compliance with nintendo which probably requires 3ds games to have some sort of 3d.

It adds to the feel of every game to me. I couldn't imagine playing OoT or Bravely Default without it.
That depends take fire emblem games for instance. It's not the kind of game you'll be looking for eye candy but instead a deep system. I find FE1 remake for DS much better than FE9 and FE10.

The eye candy of 3D can be distracting actually.
