Before posting a thread about if a game will work with Gateway follow this simple flow chart.

Is the game available yet?
If Yes- do a bit of research, then ask
If No- Is anyone on GBATemp from the future?
--If Yes- ask a more relevant question

If Smash works pn 2.3, there's a good chance fantasy life will as well. On the other hand, Nintendo should know GW broke through 8.x.x already, so there's a chacne they could come out with an FW update before they release and with new security. But as it's been said, we can't see the future.
