I found it pretty amusing that this actually worked. (Excuse me for being a n00b if this was already known)
So I just finished prepping my Wii for the USB loader, and I realized I had no HDD to use with it! I looked around, and remembered that I had a spare 20gig Xbox360 HDD (I upgraded to a 60 gig) Well, using the USB transfer cable, I formatted the HDD on my PC to FAT32, then hooked it up to the Wii and formatted it to WBFS. It works like a charm. It has a small capacity, but it's better than nothing!
I don't know if this was thread worthy or not, but it sure did interest me!
