I reccomend the bickering in this thread stops. The other two threads have already gotten shut down and we're shut down for bickering and arguments. The OP holds no real information, and if he thinks he does he needs some way of legitimately holding up his case. If you already got menuhax it isn't going to be much worth to get ironhax. I see it as people who didn't get on board the homebrew train on 10.3.

Having Ironhax is a LOT better than Menuhax (Unless you have access to CFW)

Nintendo hasn't been able to patch neither Ninjhax, OOTHAX or Ironhax a single time other than through optional updates.

But they can kill Menuhax with a single firmware update, another update away and you are locked out of updating your games and accessing eShop.

I have to say, it is really a stupid question. No real legitimate reason to update.

There's one. It's the only way to access eShop between 9.3 and 10.1, which includes the Ironfall old version downloader. I could understand why people would want to update to get Ironfall before Nintendo deletes the old files from their servers, or to download eShop games/updates.

So its no longer possible to spoof the firmware to get on eshop? Damn....

It is on CFW. But HANS no longer helps below 10.2 due to a new check Nintendo added on the server side. They check the last part of the version on NNID login, 10.2 and 10.3 both have the same last part so that's why it works, but if Nintendo updates the eshop/browser again the last part will change and only people with CFW or those on the latest FW can access eshop.

Everyone should know by now NOT to update SYSNAND past whatever version is on their system already.

This was made before relevant information was available since no one understood how or if downgrading was possible i'll update the post to reflect that.

Maybe there should be a sticky thread on just upgrades -- what versions of SYSNAND and EMUNAND are save on 2DS / O3DS / N3DS, etc.

OMFG, i don't know if someone said it already, but you got it all in reverse, o3ds is "safe" to update, because memchunckhax2 can be used in 10.3 on both systems, but it will take longer do develop.
N3ds is NOT "safe" to update, the SNShax is up to 10.1, it was fixed on 10.2. You could update but you will wait longer because SNS is easier to do than memchunckhax2, and justpingo is developing SNShax.
Or you all update and wait for gateway to do their magic...

Note that this currently only works for systems up to sysnand firmware version 9.2, but we are working on that!

That’s right! We can already reveal another surprise that is coming SOON: We will be bringing Gateway support to systems that are on the current LATEST FIRMWARE: 10.3 and lower.
So do not update past this version, because we will not be able to bring support for versions after that any time soon!

now that we have ironhax again at the eshop i think people without an entrypoint should update rightaway and get it, since is the most stable free hax
