Hey guys,

It's been a while and I'm getting back into the scene. Everything is currently working fine for my older games, but now that it's 2026 I am wondering if i need to update anything on my switch?:
  • Do I need to update anything to play the latest games? If so when do you need to update your switch?
  • Are my sysmodules or apps outdated enough to cause issues?
  • Is it worth updating Hekate from 6.2.1 to latest?
  • Anything I need to remove that's no longer relevant?
  • Do I need to update Android (LineageOS 18.1), or is it fine to leave as-is?

Here's my information below on what I have installed:

I’m currently on firmware 18.1.0 with Atmosphere 1.7.1 and running EmuMMC on a modchipped OLED Switch:
  • System Firmware: 18.1.0
  • Atmosphere: 1.7.1
  • Hekate: 6.2.1
Sysmodules:
  • Tesla Menu / nx-ovlloader: 1.0.6
  • Sysmodules: 1.2.2
  • sys-clk: 2.0.0-rc4
  • sys-patch: 1.5.1 (patched).

HB Apps:
  • hbmenu: 3.6.0
  • nx-hbloader: 2.4.4
  • ftpd pro: 3.1.0
  • HB App Store: 2.3.2
  • JKSV: 02.23.2023
  • Linkalho: 2.0.1
  • NX-Shell: 4.0.1
  • RetroArch: 1.17.0
  • USB File Transfer: 1.0.0
  • 90DNS Testing Utility: 1.0.4
  • AIO Switch Updater: 2.2.3
  • Daybreak: 1.0.0
  • DBI Installer: 658
  • PPSSPP (GLES2): 1.9.3-476

  • Android: LineageOS 18.1 (Android 11)
