I'm trying to keep my laptop temperature as low as possible and was looking at cooling pads as a solution. Do they actually work though?

I'm looking at these:

and actually, others from here:

(although I want to get a cheap cooling pad).

Thanks

my friends laptop used to overheat alot and then he got a cooling mat and it hasn't over heated since so I'd say it does work, however I don't know which one he has so I shall go and ask him if I can find him

my buds not online at the moment but I think we can safely say yes they do work but my advice is don't get a dirt cheap one

They work very well. Without them, my laptop's internal fans always turn on and they make a huge racket. I prefer a cooling pad since they're unnaturally quiet and they prevent my laptop from overheating or having to use its own fans.

I can personally say they work for me. I have a cheapy targus from walmart.

While I can say, skip the targus and get another brand, it brought down my temps drastically. My laptop used to make my legs sweat it would get so hot. So look to spend about $30 to $40 USD for a good one.

I think logitech has a new one out that has some good reviews.

hope this helped. Have a good one and good luck in your search.

My laptop turns into the sun when its running off the battery but apple says its ok so w/e.

As far as cooling pads go, yeah, anything to get that heat off the processor is good good good.

Are they loud?
Mine is extremely quiet, but you can still hear it. Although like I said, if you don't have one then your laptop's internal fans will turn on when your laptop gets too hot, and those are very loud.
