Are factory resets in general supposed to force an update? And to be clear, do you think your list of services blocked would let an old 2.3.0 system get online? I'm just looking for a way.@Pixel Eater
I have with this no problems.
But i have now the firmware 3.02. argh!!
With the factory reset (without delete the save data)
v3.01 dont turn back to v1.00! stay on 3.01.
Now, by the factory reset, i turn the DNS Server off,
and the switch downloaded the System Update 3.02 in the system cache.
After that, i turned the DNS server on and test the system update to blocked.
Its blocked, but the Switch Console update the firmware from the System cache!
Argh..
I done this on y one and its blocked the update. Online was working before the new update came out too but not now.
With that can we play online without update ?If you want to block everything then here:
NOTE: These URLs are encrypted hence port 443. Some consumer routers do not let you enter a port in your blocking interface you may have to use HTTPS:// instead. If using Site blocking you don't need the HTTP or PORT, Just the name.

use the serial number firmware codes.
buy a new one, and sell the old one!
you might see a 40-80 buck difference but it will be worth it in a few months to a year.

The IPs can change, so that isn't a foolproof method. Check if you could flash DD-WRT on your router.Hello friend!
I own a CG6640 model router and I need to block the URLs you indicated, the problem is that my router apparently does not allow adding URLs but IP.
So, my question is:
What are the IPs equivalent to the first two URLs?
Thanks in advance!
Hi, SomeGamer, thank you very much for your quick help. The IPs can change, so that isn't a foolproof method. Check if you could flash DD-WRT on your router.
Depends on your setup. If you want to use the Dev DNS then yea you should probably only change it on the Switch. That will block everything.
In my case, I use a proxy on my lan that filters the DNS so I can just set a single address for redirection. That only blocks the update server, not eshop, etc.
If your router has a URL blocker you can also set it there. Mine has this option but I find I have a lot more control using a proxy.
If you have an actual DNS server running on your lan you can also block it with that.
I guess my point is there are many ways you can do it.
