Try to add these. Or reboot your Switch.

I already fixed it. Infact, I created a thread for the new stuff to block.

It seems today that the DNS doesn't work without launching a game & getting a update nag.

Could this be fixed by chance?

I have had a 3ds system, and just waiting for a way to hack it has drived me nuts during 2014. A full exploit never came out until 2016 in December and users could only mod their console on a certain FW VIA Hardmod or Softmod if they had a low enough FW. The majority of people who had 3ds's never wanted to hardmod their console either for obvious risks with soldering.

I know the earlier I get ready its going to be easier & faster to hack as time goes on. Games will be coming out on the Switch consistently as well, and I can't afford to pay 59.99 when a new game releases every single time, so I just decided to use my Wii, PC, 3DS, and at some point a Wii U if it becomes cheap enough; while I wait since I have a lot of goodies with online acsess anyway.

I know school is also going to be a problem becuase i'm starting in a few days/weeks. So I don't want to put all my attention to a new Switch game to get left behind on a code class, english & history.

Plus, it could be worth the wait anyway. Who knows :P

In other words, i'm going to keep my Switch under a rock until 2018/2019. Becuase I know in the end I won't be using online as much (Becuase 1. Its paid online, and 2. Nintendo is killing my bank account :( .)

I just got a Switch (Monster Hunter edition!) that came on 2.0.3. So of course I'm wondering about the current state of this. Is there anything at all that can be done in terms of enabling online multiplayer and still blocking updates? I figured if I'm really lucky XX would only need Capcom's servers. Or am I correct in thinking we've run out of ideas that don't involve "lol forget going online". As best I can tell, it's not even possible to initially connect your Nintendo Account without removing this DNS protection.

Alternatively I wonder if removing the DNS and entering System Settings > System > Auto-Update Software: OFF would allow me to do anything I'm trying to do (like at least access my Nintendo Account and Friend List) without immediately hitting another dead end or getting stuck with a recurring nag.

    @Pixel Eater
I have with this no problems.

But i have now the firmware 3.02. argh!!

With the factory reset (without delete the save data)
v3.01 dont turn back to v1.00! stay on 3.01.
Now, by the factory reset, i turn the DNS Server off,
and the switch downloaded the System Update 3.02 in the system cache.
After that, i turned the DNS server on and test the system update to blocked.
Its blocked, but the Switch Console update the firmware from the System cache!
    Argh..

Are factory resets in general supposed to force an update? And to be clear, do you think your list of services blocked would let an old 2.3.0 system get online? I'm just looking for a way.

use the serial number firmware codes.
buy a new one, and sell the old one!
you might see a 40-80 buck difference but it will be worth it in a few months to a year.

    Hello friend!

I own a CG6640 model router and I need to block the URLs you indicated, the problem is that my router apparently does not allow adding URLs but IP.
    So, my question is:
What are the IPs equivalent to the these two URLs?

    Thanks in advance!

The IPs can change, so that isn't a foolproof method. Check if you could flash DD-WRT on your router.

Hi, SomeGamer, thank you very much for your quick help.

Oh, it is true! I did not remember that the IP changes.
Very interesting the solution that you give me, the problem is that I do not have permission to flashing the router :(

    Thanks again and greetings.

It's a portable console. Your way can't block updates when away from home.
