Long time lurker, first time poster.
Only registered for the sake of clearing this up.

Huge fan of the game myself, but not being too good with tactical RPG's and this being the first Disgaea game I ever tried, I actually lost to Mid-Boss the very first battle.
And to clarify what you're saying:
Yes, losing to Mid-Boss, even in the very first battle, will unlock the extra prinny comments on the top screen.

You can also unlock pleinair thru this method after you do the tutorial.....

There's also a cheat, Kerian, that enables it, dood.

I know, dood. But I wonder - should I enable it right from the start or unlock it the normal way

In tried the cheat once 3days ago, and yeah, the comments are funny

I'm starting to get bored of this game now. Then again, I've been playing it for like the past 2 weeks for at least 5 hours a day. (Which is a lot for me) I've been so addicted that I even play it on my way to school, during Calculus, etc.

At this point, I have...
-Beaten the game
-Unlocked Marjoly, Plenair, and Priere.
-Rebirthed my main 6 times.
-Gotten a legendary Yoshitsuna with 300 staticians, 1900 armsmasters, 2000 gladiators, and other assorted specialists. It's also Lv100.

People saying here that they can't get to level 100 and up.. I'm on the second Mid-boss fight and Laharl is still at level 16, I also have a bunch of other characters, most of them level 8 at least.. am I doing something wrong!?

I'm also finding really hard to get money in this game, healing your characters costs a lot :/

There's certain stages that allow you to power level, such as 5-1 (I think... might be 5-4. It's a stage with a whole bunch of Neko's and Succubi)

And about the money thing.. yeah, it will be hard in the beginning. Eventually, it's gonna get to the point where you'll have like over a billion HL and nothing to spend it on.

5-3 seems to be one of the early level up stages,(it's the only with the invincible panels thru out most of the level) the trick is to throw the monsters together to form a level 112 monster and throw that monster on the green panel,of course be sure you can actually damage it during this process......as for money I agree,but once your able to start doing cave of ordeals(mainly the 3rd stage) you'll be rich beyond your wildest dreams,I have like 190+ million just pretty much useless.....to bad they didn't add some more things to the game that you could waste money on besides the shop items and music......

If you're playing with a big team (around 5-10 characters) I think it's quite normal. When you hear people grinding hundreds of levels in no time it's usually cause they solo the game.

As a matter of fact, I think if you beat the game with smaller level characters, you are probably playing better than the people who beat the game just with raw power.

I thought FFTA2 failed in comparison to this game, but that's just my honest opinion. (Although DSgaea could have been so much better if the voice acting wasn't cut and the graphics were a tad more polished)

Honestly I hated RTS games but FFTA2 did actually open my liking to give Luminous Arc another shot which also partly lead me to Disgaea,(that and the um fan girl that i've ran into talking about the game non-stop LOL)FFTA2 at first got me addicted but the dreadful story made me put it down even before I finished the game......

I've been playing this for quite a while now, loved the ps2 version, and wanted to try it out for the multiplayer and other new features (demon gadgets etc)

I've not come across any of these new features yet, am i missing somthing?

Multiplayer can be found if you go back to your bedroom and use the phone in the top corner (there's a maid prinny standing next to it). Not sure about demon gadgets though... There are other new features which can be unlocked after finishing the game (sometimes under certain conditions). Or you can just cheat for them. Whatever floats your boat.
