Gaming Misc Disabling ingame NFC for USUM

What exactly does disabling the ingame NFC do? I know it has something to do with the festival plaza but i'm guessing it just keeps
the internet on even outside of the festival plaza? please do correct me if i'm wrong because i most definitely sound stupid.
