awesome work guys!

have followed this project since the start(when creidar first briefed on youtube that he could play starfox on the wii without a disc)
and lately the progress has been BOOMING!(yay for all us gamers that want to play gc games on the wii without any discs)

now playing "The Legend of zelda: The wind waker" without any lagg on graphics or sound, only part that makes me sad is that it hangs when i try to take up the dungeon map(which makes the game harder! and more challenging!)
mariokart and a bunch of other games work flawlessly.

So. i guess a big THANKS! is in order from my part and all my friends, since we are now happily playing gc games on the wii because of your hard work.

will backup a few of my other games and test with a full log later.

There is a patch you can use to fix that problem you know...

So much talk about disc read errors, now to see if I run into any on my machine xD I am rarely getting an error on my system menu now =S Which is odd because I haven't modified anything on it in months (haven't changed the version or installed channels in recent memory). I think it's because my broken disc drive is trying to read Twilight Princess, which I need inserted for DML to work. Oh well, it doesn't seem to have any long term affects, so I'm not going to worry about it for now.

I'm running a 4.0U Wii, DML r36, USB Loader GX r1152, from real NAND I believe (since I don't have SNEEK or etc setup)
Sandisk 4GB SDHC Class 10

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (NTSC) - Plays full speed, did a run through 5 levels of story mode and had no issues
Super Smash Bros Melee (NTSC) - Plays full speed, did a run through Adventure Mode and had no issues

I'll edit this post as I do more tests.
In your situation with a broken drive you should not use a gc/wii game disc because Disc Channel is trying to read the game banner and with your broken drive this could couse an error. Use a disc that the Wii doesn't know how to handle (not trying to read the banner), for example a music/movie disc.

You only need the disc in the drive when starting the game, after that you can take it out if you want.
I don't get errors after starting, just on the system menu. If it becomes a real hassle I'll only pop it in at loadtime but for now it's not common enough to matter for me. It's more convenient just to leave the game in for the time being, but thanks for the suggestion nonetheless.

Awesome, r36 really seems to fix all disc read errors I had with r30-r35. MK DD plays fine, melee doesn't hang anymore in classic mode at the break the targets stage and also the freeze in the intro video of starfox adventures is gone and every game I tried so far runs throughout at full speed. So a big thank you to all who donated and also the whole team behind DML, you've done an amazing job here.

hows Mario Kart GP run? is it playable or is the mapping for the controller just not there?
DML is only for gamecube games and not triforce. If you refering to the last part of crediars video he clearly says that part is from another project You should have read the info text just before the video part of Mario Kart GB starts.

Just finally had the chance to try DMLr36. Hadn't tested since r26. On my Wii with the bad drive, nothing inserted, real nand and wiiflow. Seems now to be working really nicely. SSBM runs the intro beautifully. Didn't have much time for playing, but I'm excited by the progress.

I'm using DML on real nand
Sweet!
Thanks.

Time to order a 32GB SD Card.

General question for whomever knows the answer:
Is the donations link in this post still the right destination to which donations should be funneled?
I can't keep up with all the nuances of who's supposed to get what (godlike, Crediar, etc.).

I think he's talking about the disk. Not to mention, I think WiiFlow can play DML with no disk.

Been playing GC games with DML r36 for all day now...NOT ONE ERROR!
AWESOME.

One question, are there any extra steps involved to playing WindWaker through DML?
Also are games that have multiple discs supported ( re4, MGS Twin Snakes, Killer 7 )?

And if the concern is that "well we can't trust the government to intervene for this because the government can't do anything right and wastes tons of money" then holy shit push for a better government. I'm certainly trying to. Don't throw your hands up and go "we've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas"

@K3Nv2 that's crazily expensive. how long will that take to pay off?

Although diet is largely education, people don't need to go to university to learn what's healthy and what's not,
it's the whole country, big corporations and advertising that is to blame for leading most of the population to believe that poptarts and froot loops are healthy to feed a child
  • mthrnite @ mthrnite:
i would think the population knows better but with food deserts and abject poverty, sometimes a poptart gonna have to do.

As someone who went through the grade school system in the US some time within the past 30 or so years, not nearly enough is done to promote and educate on how to eat healthy in a way that is feasible to do on a regular basis and also affordable. Eating healthy is, comparatively, fucking expensive. So is eating unhealthy, but in many cases eating unhealthy is more affordable than eating healthy

@Sicklyboy I agree, but also it's about self control and realistic thinking. We wouldn't feed a dog soda, so why feed it to ourselves? Eating unhealthy food because it's cheap is one thing, but I'm sure you know people who drink soda routinely when they should be drinking water which is free.
I get it can feel mean to say "no treat sweet beverage for you anymore" but for many people it's just in their way of life.
