There is a patch you can use to fix that problem you know...awesome work guys!
have followed this project since the start(when creidar first briefed on youtube that he could play starfox on the wii without a disc)
and lately the progress has been BOOMING!(yay for all us gamers that want to play gc games on the wii without any discs)
now playing "The Legend of zelda: The wind waker" without any lagg on graphics or sound, only part that makes me sad is that it hangs when i try to take up the dungeon map(which makes the game harder! and more challenging!)
mariokart and a bunch of other games work flawlessly.
So. i guess a big THANKS! is in order from my part and all my friends, since we are now happily playing gc games on the wii because of your hard work.
will backup a few of my other games and test with a full log later.

In your situation with a broken drive you should not use a gc/wii game disc because Disc Channel is trying to read the game banner and with your broken drive this could couse an error. Use a disc that the Wii doesn't know how to handle (not trying to read the banner), for example a music/movie disc.So much talk about disc read errors, now to see if I run into any on my machine xD I am rarely getting an error on my system menu now =S Which is odd because I haven't modified anything on it in months (haven't changed the version or installed channels in recent memory). I think it's because my broken disc drive is trying to read Twilight Princess, which I need inserted for DML to work. Oh well, it doesn't seem to have any long term affects, so I'm not going to worry about it for now.
I'm running a 4.0U Wii, DML r36, USB Loader GX r1152, from real NAND I believe (since I don't have SNEEK or etc setup)
Sandisk 4GB SDHC Class 10
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (NTSC) - Plays full speed, did a run through 5 levels of story mode and had no issues
Super Smash Bros Melee (NTSC) - Plays full speed, did a run through Adventure Mode and had no issues
I'll edit this post as I do more tests.
