I agree it has not even been released for a month yet and they are almost done. They are doing a fantastic job and I for one am glad they are working so hard for this online community.

Hey guys! So, someone asked me if I could join to the project and helping you in the romhacking/programming aspect of it. I would be glad to create tools for you, mainly extractors/inserters. I'm also good at analyzing file types. You guys just need to tell me what has been done so far and what is needed to be done in general because by reading the thread it wasn't very clear. How did you translate the stuff you guys have so far? Hex editor?

EDIT:
I already figured out the ARCV0.BIN format and I will create a packer/unpacker for it. You guys are lucky, this package even includes the filenames and folder structure, haha.

it's strange that in this forum there's nobody who can help you in this project. But the problem is only for the story part?

Yeah only that it is not only but story is like 80% of the game.

Also Menues and Maps are Images which we can't edit as well.

I'm a translator not a programmer. Give me tools and I translate. When I don't have working tools I don't translate. Easy as that it is.

So did he respond at all?

Kinda confused here.

The way the threads going I can see Keytotruth did answer, just that he wasn't able to help at all.

Yes. Never say never but so far we have no solution. sticking to the facts.
Really going on my nerves already. I don't like it when a project stresses me out.
Like I stated million times come to us if you really can help. But people never listen.

It doesn't take much. One programmer who can fix one error in a program written in VB. You even get the source. And in return the whole community gets a story translation. Sounds like a good deal to me.
For some reason no one wants to take the offer.

1$ for every "maybe I can help" I've heard and I would be close to actually recruit one programmer capable of doing that...
Unless you are sure, don't even bother.

We had so many "maybe I can help" guys it is not fun anymore.

VB is ouch! But okay I guess with this kind of tools you have to take what you get. What exactly you mean with "error in the program"? Is it just it doesn't follow the file format (that you know, hence a real "bug") correctly or don't you know the file format itself (so the program can't handle it)?

Guys.

Just be patient I'm sure eventually some brainiac programmer will join in on this and actually help the team.

And that is my thought.

Thank you for your time.

some of the best selling games on the switch are wii u ports (that are priced way too high

@ColdBlitz, i forgot breath of the wild released for the Wii u
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
$60 for a game that's a decade old might be unheard of on PC but actually is not uncommon on consoles

especially Nintendo because they only ever lower the price of games when they do a greatest hits/platinum hits/players choice re-release
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, and the HD collections released for 7th gen consoles too
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but they don't seem to have done any of those for the switch yet and maybe never will

I think we all forgot breath of the wild released for the wii u tbh

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, tbh the HD collections are more justified since they include more than just 1 game per copy
