Did youtube get even wider?

I have been noticing for a few days that youtubes, already wide-screen format has become even wider. What is the need for this? Now all videos have black bars in the side.

nope. it's the same 16:9 ratio screen. perhaps it's my video. oh well

I don't think it's youtube.
It's the people who upload the videos.
They convert it in such a size that the black bars appear on the side or their cam is like that.

I think youtube just changed something again, it looks even weirder and it keeps confusing me cuz I keep clicking the wrong spot. They made the bottom bar the same size as the screen width so now the black bars just stick out by themselves.

I just saw a YouTube video at YouTube.com and the widescreen format doesn't make the screen even wider. So I believe it's unchanged.
