Hello,

I tried to check if my switch (Mario Kart 8 Bundle) is patched.

I used the TegraRcmGUI, installed the drivers and then put my switch (in RCM Mode) in to my Computer with an USB cable.

The RcmGUI told me that a device in RCM mode was connected.

I injected the binkeydumpv9.bin by using the RcmGUI and the RcmGui told me that the payload was injected succesfully.

But now my switch doesn't start anymore.

Did I just brick it?

What can I do now?

Thanks in advance :)

My switch is on v6.20

Try holding the power button for 20-30 seconds and then try again.

Thank you, my switch is starting again.

But how I do I get a cfw on it?

I'm thinking about buying an SX Pro stick.

Would you recommend it? I am completely new to this kind of topics.

Or is it possible for me (even though I'm a newbie) to install a permanent cfw on my switch?

The closest thing to a permanent CFW is a modchip with using Hekate autoboot.

Thanks guys. Do you have a tutorial for the best possible way without buying an SX Pro stick?

I am never sure which one is a new tutorial and which is an outdated one.

If you want to press the power button and have the unit boot into CFW then get a mod chip fitted, since you are in Europe you can try contact @mattytrog see if he has any trinket m0 left, sx os pro isn't needed if you fit a chip and get a license, but then again there is free CFW out there unless you really want usb mounting support.

Thank you :)

So I do need a Micro SD card for it? And of course to finally get the homebrew stuff working I have to put it on the sd card? Or might it be possible to put this stuff to the internal storage of my switch?

What is the max capacity for a micro sd card on firmware 6.20? Nintendo website tells that you need to update your firmware in order to use a SDXC card, is this necessary?

I would first make sure your switched isnt patched since you havent successfully loaded a payload yet.

It is not sure if the TegraRcmGUI told me that it was successful? How do I check surely that my switch isn't patched?

It will say successful on the gui even if its patched but nothing will happen on the switch.

Push hekate and see if that works.

Sorry for the dumb questions, where do I get the hekate payload? I didn't find it inside the tutorial that was posted by Hayato213

Google it

I did this and found a zip-file called "hekate_ctcaer_4.10.1"

Inside there is a hekate_ctcaer_4.10.1.bin file and a folder called "bootloader".

So I copy the .bin file inside the TegraRcmGUI folder and inject it as a payload in TegraRcmGUI even though the bootloader folder only contains empty folder "payload"?
