So.. Im not sure what I did but I was messing around with my micro sd card socket as my switch has been freezing alot lately on loading screens and while using certain apps so i figured my sd card slot wasnt in place properly.. I took it out and put it back in and now It doesn't read any micro sd cards.. Did I break it?
Not sure if I need to completely replace the micro sd socket or if there's something I can do to fix it..

I either get one of two errors when booting with Hekate.. But the sleep mode is always missing.

try reseating it again. you could have just put it in unevenly. also check if you have any bent pins on the connectors and in the slot itself

Try to get some macro shots of the connectors and post them here, it might be easier to tell if they're damaged than with your naked eye.

It may not be clipped in place (make shore it’s flat) but you have to be carful with all the connectors as are easy to brake.
If reconnecting dos not fix it take some pics of connections and post please.

that fixed the issue! thanks man.
i'm trying to find a permanent fix for it so it doesn't keep accidentally removing the Micro SD or going loose but jamming a piece of cardboard or something between the micro sd and the reader seems to do the trick.

I know right:D
Ever since I applied this fix I can now freely change SD cards on the fly.

What do you use to jam under your micro sd card cause I find I keep having the micro sd disconnect halfway through games

Using tape I squeezed some sponge material together and taped it on top of the SD card connector. Closing the back helps keep it tightly pressed.

Edit: it was a nightmare to have games freeze or cfw refusing to detect the SD card. So have a look at my fix!

Any possible way to fix this? Or should I just wait it out for my new reader?
I took it out cause I found the issue was actually cause the metal tray part ontop of the reader was detaching.. Causing issues reading sd cards. Which I assume probs requires soldering to reattach.

Looks like some pads are ripped aswell. To resolder that you would need to scrape off the coating near the ripped pads. That was certainly a bad slot if the top came off on it's own.

Indeed. That's something that can be easily fixed by someone with soldering skills. Get the metal part replaced and tell us how it goes.
