Can’t find info elsewhere but saw several tweets that seem to indicate? Anyone got more info?

There's even "exploit.c" POC code in the hackerone report thread for the actual kernel vuln (works up to 7.02).

Really generous disclosure terms by Sony. Pleasantly surprised things went down like this.

Ok so seems like not a hoax...so i just gotta birdman this for now...you know rub my hands smile and wait...man i might be able to play my far cry 3 remastered soon! I am excited!

I’m more gutted that he’s Stated in the other post that he’s left the scene. Such a shame, the guys a genius, he’s given my PS Vita a new lease of life, retroarch on it has been a god send to me recently.

Yes, I was very surprised by this. Why so generous, do you think? What's in it for them?
It encourages hackers to disclose their exploits instead of just 0daying them publicly without warning. That means less piracy damage because most people update their ps4s regularly.

Believe it or not, an exploit is still valuable even if 0dayed. People can get good paying jobs if they publish an impressive exploit. With bounty + allowed disclosure, the hacker gets the best of both worlds and they're less likely to sidestep the bounty program.

So we're in sort of a waiting stage? What's the highest firmware we can be on for this to work? I am on latest so I would need to buy another PS4.

This is *looking like 6.72 currently. There's hope for up to 7.02 if a new webkit/etc bug can be found.

* As always, I'd wait until there's an actual tangible release before updating though. To be safe.
