What about collectors? I still got my Twilight Princess copy in the original seal, and I aint planning on breaking it any time soon.
So... yes, I have a downloaded copy of Twilight Princess, and yes, I want to play it on my Wii through either (backup)disc or USB. And no, I dont want to spend money on an older DVD drive, I'll just stick with the 'cube then!
Point is - dont just assume everyone who wants to play backups are pirates.
Bad, the act of obtaining a copy of a game that is not yours is illegal.

Don't misunderstand me please, what I not agree is questioning the tueidj's decision to fight piracy.
If it's his decision should be respected, nothing more.
I will not say more, we are just put shit on this thread.

he does own the game...

The point is, he's purposely not playing it so he can resell it later for a better value...
Ergo, playing the game would put him at a financial disadvantage... just like a pirate.

A public service announcement brought to you by XFlak:

Seriously guys, this has gone on long enough. When it was just a few posts on the subject it wasn't a big deal, but now this is getting insane.

I like to think my voice carries some weight around here, and in this case I'd like to use it to support tueidj as I am pretty sure he must be sick of all these AP posts by now. Anyways, if you support XFlak, then you should support dropping this devolution AP discussion. If you agree with me, don't quote me and say +1 or anything like that, just drop it (or click the "Like This" button if you must do something).

This is piracy by definition. You are a pirate. "What about collectors?" Exactly, who gives a damn about collectors. You made the decision to keep your stuff in mint condition rather than open and play it, so the world should cater to you and let you play it anyway?

No one is imposing collection on you, so you can't complain when it makes things inconvenient for you. If you're such a legitimate backup user, you should be buying two copies of everything, not bitching that your personal brand of piracy isn't being supported.

i think this topic has going out of hand... cause of people talking about being a pirate. i admit i'm a pirate i play back up's and shit cause i'm just a poor boy nobody loves me!! j/k i made a blog about this so yeah i bet i got people bitching saying oh buy the damn things... but any enough if your not going support then GTFO!! has for me i'm STFD and say farewell...

edit:finally read the full topic and yeah i can see where this is going. also maybe the mods/admin's should step up and have people stop talking about the AP stuff seriously i don't know why you guys just go buy a used copy of the game at gamestop ebay ETC... i know there's some people who can't but it is wise to take better care of your games (even if you have little bros or sister or older) still it's your thought of you treat your games. sure there' wear and tear. but yeah... that's my 7 dollars spent and i'm sticking to it.

The ONLY two reasons why I can see AP would affect anyone who is not a pirate is for A. Broken disk drives B. Two wiis. I for one have a broken disk drive, so I can't really insert a disk and verify its a real disk.

There is a lot of AP talk in this thread, and close to the too much mark. I think that this should not have been mentioned in the first post, so it would not be on peoples minds until they get it and have to follow the instructions.

As for deadlyfoez, wth is wrong with you? One post your cussing out this bro for asking a question, and then the next one your asking for a new wii to be donated to you so you can "test" it out? Is that how we make friendz now?

There´s a method to scrub the disc surface in case they are scratched, not sure if it works in every case.
Yeah i had that done at hastings, my disk doesn't work anymore cause the machine ate it. QQ

and i just found out like a couple of weeks ago gamestop is no longer buying gamecube stuff after april fool's day so it's going be a classic like the GBA i was wondering when this was going happen...

Soo... you're saying you want to play the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess with all of the features already available in the Wii version and which works fine from Wii USB loaders?

That's the price you pay for being a collector. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

But if you could have your cake and eat it too, who would be harmed? You did buy the cake.

can't you start your own topic about piracy yes or no.

and let this topic be about a person who makes a beautifull program.

thanks in advance

Well in any case, I'm very excited to see this released. It's quite the achievement tueidj has managed, even so far. I look forward to upcoming news about the project

This looks amazing! Can't wait to see the final product tueidj, I've missed playing my old gc games and being able to use alternate control schemes + saves on the nand/usb would be amazing!

I like how 50% of the tempers are whining about the AP. GC games come for almost no price nowadays, just get them gamez from Ebay or something.

Also, I'm very curious how your implementation of a possible audio streaming fix will be.

Interesting. The way you are describing it, this works like GBA games on the 3DS.

The hardware is there. The 3DS processor can play GBA code. So why run in GBA mode?

If the Wii processor can run Gamecube games natively, why run in Gamecube mode? Is this how it works?

Looking how it's going, I'll not be surprised if tueidj actually locks this topic........
This is what I though after reading 1/3 of the topic about HDD size and piracy.
4 pages out of 11 are offtopic, so I'm closing it temporarily.

He said he didn't decided yet about the AP. no need to ask what he decided.
The AP is not here to prevent you playing games "you can't find easily so you NEED to pirate them" but to let you play retail games disc "you ALREADY own legally".

@[member='tueidj'], if you want to answer, post or unlock it please contact me (or another moderator, as I may not be reacting quickly).
Thanks.
