Mario Maker has some limits of things you can do with it (no doors that lead to truly different backgrounded areas, no secret exits, you get the drill). A ROM hack does not have those limits.

Just another update guys!

We are still on track for the scheduled demo release of New Super Mario Classic on Monday. As a refresher, the demo will include the following:

• All levels of World 1 (1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 1-5, 1-A, 1-Cannon, 1-Tower, 1-Castle)
• World 1 Custom Worldmap
• Tilesets for World 1
• Custom Title Screen
• Maybe more features

After discussing with the developers, we have decided that the best path to take is to do an update post on Monday containing screenshots, gameplay footage, etc. This makes it so that we can create quality content for all of you guys. The demo has no set release date now, but we plan to keep you guys updated.
