As most of you guys all know, the New Super Mario Brothers 2 ROM hacking scene never really got attention. It is a phenomenal game on its own; however, this gives ROM hacks the chance to be great, look great, and perform great.
New Super Mario Classic is a Work In Progress ROM hack for this wonderful game. Most ROM hacks for this specific game are abandoned. This hack is very different. We have been working hard over the past few weeks on quality content for the community.
All of this aside, we are very excited to announce this ROM hack.
What Will be Included in the hack?
-All levels in the game are completely redesigned.
-New world maps.
-All worlds have a new theme (Except for World star, maybe.)
-Many new tilesets.
-Completely new soundtrack.
-New level types.
Hey everybody, here once again with another progress update. We aren't quite sure when the demo is going to be out, but don't think we are spending all of our time on world one. We are also working on other aspects/worlds of the game.
NEWS: I left the dev team but am still hosting the development server and maintaining the GBATemp thread

Hello everybody! Sorry for the delayed progress update. The dev team was hoping to release the demo this week, which is why we were putting off the Progress Update. Some unexpected errors and bugs came up yesterday and today so we need to push out the demo again. Instead, hopefully these screenshots will appease your appetite for the ROM hack!

Lol I just answered this to TCPixel, so if you don't mind Copypastas:
"Also, just to answer your concerns about the term "Classic" in the title is supposed to represent the fun and difficulty in the original Mario Bros. games, while maintaining newer features (such as Spiderwebs)."

Well, the reason the developer team chose the name "New Super Mario Classic" is because the whole goal of the ROM Hack is to try and bring back the fun and difficulty of older mario games. Such as the original or Super Mario Bros. 3, while including newer features, such as spiderwebs.
Why is it classic? jk.
Anyway, Just wondering will there be a CIA version when this is fully finished? So users like me can install it directly to the 3DS Menu. Without having to have the patch files on the SD Card?
Also is it possible to add where it doesnt read the Save file from NSMB2? So they can have their own separate saves?

We are unable to distribute a cia because it would contain copyrighted content. Maybe we could have a script that would build a cia for you, but we don't know about that yet. Stay tuned.
People ask this all the time, and here's the answer:
With a set release date, everyone has to rush work in order to meet that date. On the other hand, without a set release date, we can make quality content for you guys to enjoy.
So, the answer is no.
