Hello, I hope you can help me with my problem...

Today I wanted to updated GM9 to the latest and noticed that even after changing the payload I would still get the older version... I asked someone on #3dshacks and they suggested the reason could be that my 3DS was booting from the CTR instead of the SD, and I should rename / delete boot.firm on CTR to force the 3DS to boot from SD.

The thing is, now the 3DS no longer boots! When I turn it on the blue light flashes, then it turns back off. I wasn't worried because I thought I somehow also deleted boot.firm from the SD, and I'd just have to place it there, but it actually was still there... I've tried replacing it with the latest version, but to no avail... what would you suggest?

Sounds like 3ds is not detecting your SD.

So the only thing I can do now is get a new SD?

This is strange, I played a game this morning and they are stored in the SD... but then again, I couldn't update GM9 because the console was using the CTR version...

you should test your SD. And also you can try different one.
Also what version of b9s your 3ds has? (because you might be using old/new luma)

Sounds like you're using a boot.firm not compatible with the hack you have installed, so it was defaulting to the NAND. Now neither has a compatible boot.firm so it's turning off. Try a few different versions of Luma3DS such as 7.1, or 8.0 and see which one boots. You can also try using GodMode9 as your boot.firm and make sure it's working.

Alright, I'll experiment with some versions. Also, what it does it mean to use GM9 as boot.firm? Can I just rename it to that?

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
