Like most people out there I'm tossing the idea of risking my Wii to play SPM as there doesn't seem to be any clear cut information as to why some Wii's are getting bricked other than they're not up to date. Of all the threads I've read about it most people who have bricked their Wii don't bother explaining what firmware they're running, whether it was connected to the net etc etc..
What I want to achieve with this thread is to get a list of everyone that has PAL Wii's only, I'm not interested in NTSC Wii's at all, and whether or not you've played SPM on it yet. This thread isn't to discuss any moral standings on playing "backups" or a place to discuss where to get backups or anything like that.
For those of you that have played SPM on a PAL Wii sucessfully (without bricking it) can you tell me the following:
Country you live in:
Firmware Version:
Type of Modchip:
For those of you that have played SPM on a PAL Wii and bricked it can you tell me:
Firmware Version:
Was your Wii ever connected to the net:
Type of Modchip:
Found any information leading to a possible fix?:
Information about bricked Wii's seems to be scattered all over the place so a centralised location would be better than having it in threads intended for reviewing the game. I'm wanting to make sure that there's a corollation between firmware's sub 2.1E and Wii's getting bricked by trying to play SPM and that having firmware's 2.1E/2.2E is an assurance that your Wii won't get bricked.
