Anyone else here looking forward to deep labyrinth. I know 1up did a revie of it, and was not over excited about it but I think it looks like a great little not so hardcore DS title. Something to tide you over till Final Fantasy.

Hope it gets released today as well..

Well, all I can say is I hope the story helps to add to the enjoyment. The Japanese release struck me as meh. The control mechanics really left something to be desired.

It was originally a cellphone game so I really think it's meh... speaking of Labyrinths, DS and Atlus.... YGGDRASIL LABYRINTH! Now that makes my mouth water.

was it released as a cell phone game and if so any reviews?

Well, it was only released in Japan as far as I know and as most cellphone games go...

They're not that good.
I haven't tried the DS version so I can't really judge it like that though.

EDIT: The DS game kinda looks like a port though really, it even retains that grid thing for casting spells though of course it didn't use a stylus. (Used the cellphone keypad, hence the grid.)

was it similar to lets say Lost magic the controls for magic etc?
no, not really. Maybe a slight resemblance. the first person hack slash part is not that bad but the magic is pretty quirky. you select it like a weapon (unlike Lost Magic where you hold down a shoulder button) and the grid stays on the screen and you draw out the magic on it and sometimes it hits what you are aiming at.

yes, no matter what the quality is, it will be nice to play a "new" US release after everything that has come out lately (Mario 3x3 and Starfox not withstanding)

Have any of you tried the Japanese version that came out a few months ago? I did. Didn't like it. Maybe it was because I couldn't read a word. So, I'm gonna give it another chance when the US version drops.
