Dark Souls Remastered gets Switch release date, along with network test.

After a delay and a lengthy period of radio silence on the matter, Bandai Namco have finally taken to twitter to announce that the much anticipated Dark Souls Remastered for the Nintendo Switch will be releasing on October 19th for both the UK and US. In addition, an amiibo based off the titular Solaire of Astora character will be releasing alongside it on the same day. This amiibo, as a reminder, will simply unlock the popular "praise the sun!" emote for your character early without having to raise affinity with the covenant of the sun first. Bandai Namco also state that a network test is planned to be taking place for the game on the Switch, though no specifics were given as to a time-frame other than "prior to release."

About damn time. Still keeping my pre-order personally, but I doubt I'll actually play it at this point since I've already played myself out on the Remaster months ago.

Why do I feel that the delay had more to do with Nintendo than Capcom...
You're probably right, since Capcom has nothing to do with Dark Souls ;)

So long as it runs well Bandai Namco (or whichever studio they got to port it) can take as much time as they need in my opinion! The port probably just needed some more time in the oven to get it running better. I am sure it was no small feat bringing the game to a platform like the Switch.

So much for a summer release. Jerks... I'm just going to make it a point to pirate every game that gets delayed from now on, I'm tired of this shit. I set money aside to be ready for the games release, and I can't do that if they constantly delay stuff, so fuck 'em. They lose a sale.

The game is already dead on the PC, I wonder how long this port will last... :rofl2:
No idea, but it's the one game I really wanted cross play to have. I wanted to play with my friends on PC/PS4, but we know that will never ever happen. :(

I know people are mad this game got delayed till after summer but development wasn't finished. I commend From Software for not rushing the game out unfinished and broken like many devs and publishers do these days because of online patching being a thing.

From Software has nothing to do with this Switch port, it's being handled by Virtuos only.
