Yeah, the 771 weaponnames that crash translated came with 771 descriptions. In fact I did most of the descriptions, if not all of them, in MenuMessage.pac if I'm not mistaken. That was before others joined in to help with the translation. You can't believe how much of a help it was to have extra hands, or in this case heads, working on the translation. Even if it's just for the Katakana alone, that saves a lot of time.

Here's the corrected LBX Weapon Name. I would have done it earlier but I've been really busy lately. :) There are still some mistakes with the reading, probably due to haste since the mistakes were not repeated twice like for example mistaking the Katakana for Buster with Bazooka, Yellow with Hero and small things like that. Nothing big. There was one mistake though, that was repeated and it was this; you had デスクロー as Desukuro. If you had googled デスクロー then you would have found that it is actually Deathclaw. Lots of Fallout3 pics, texts, wikis, mentions of Fallout etc. So next time, google it if you don't know what it is.

Personally, I knew it's Deathclaw because I know the katakana for claw is クロー and katakana for Death is デス (desu) which is weird but is true. They don't have a 'th' sound so they use 'su' instead. Deathnote(desunote) taught me that.

You don't even need google if you know how to pronounce the Katakana right... DESUKURO is not odd at all.

True but sometimes the word doesn't come to you or escapes your mind, no matter how many times you pronounce it to yourself, until you google it., I knew I wouldn't know ダーインスレイヴ was Dáinsleif if I hadn't read To Aru Majutsu and googled that very term.

Sure, but Death Claw are two known words, that's what I mean, of course you can't deduce something you don't know ^^

I do know the word, but like Frank said, it didn't come out, even if I pronounced it...

Holy crap. I forgot to attach the file again... I just realised it. Here's the corrected LBXWeaponName. And don't worry about not getting the Deathclaw desukuroo thing. Recognising foreign words based on the Katakana is a matter of familiarity and experience. :)

I was wondering... how exactly are the files being organized after being translated?
Is Crashman or Frank downloading and replacing the files one by one?

I'm downloading and replacing them.
Been busy with School, Work, and another project (MechaMon). Danball is of course priority but I haven't had as much time to test as of late as I'd like to.

Robots in Pokéballs? Not-Japan? Damn it, another (looking cool) game to my never-ending "To Finish 100%" game list!

PS. - That Mazinger Z reminds me of a strategy robot game for GBA, it was "Taisen" something something, anyways, can't wait. xD

Super Robot Taisen. The two OG games (Original Generation) were released in the US.

Here, the "LBX Item Name" from "MessageData.pac" file, I would've done this sooner, but I was busy updating my manga list.

PS. "LBX Sub Name" from the same file. Also, when is the OP going to be updated, I want to see some Done's in the list? :p

Sorry, I'll go through and update the OP later tonight.
Heads up though guys, I'll be gone Thursday through Monday on a trip so I won't be able to update or test anything then.
Also I've only got 3 weeks of classes left and after that I'll REALLY be able to work on this again with full steam.

I've downloaded the LBXItemName and LBXSubName and I'll go through and check it later tonight. I've got 10 mins till break is about over lol.

EDIT:
I've done LBXItemName and LBXSubName. There are a few things I need to mention to kalker. Once again, I need to remind you that when dealing with foreign names in Katakana, it's important that you do not change the structure of the name. Those are names and you should keep the structure that was used. For example, you had サークルマインS as Main Circle S. Not only did you change the structure, you had Main and Mine confused. Sounding out the マイン at the end gives you the sound 'ma' and 'in' which produces the sound for Mine. Where as メイン is sounded out as 'may' and 'in' which gives the sound for Main. So the proper translation is 'Circle Mine S'.

Another thing is you had チャンスリチャージ as Change Recharge. Note the ャ and the ス in チャンス. It's not ェ and ジ. Change is チェ ンジ. Be careful. Lastly, for now, is just a small lesson in context. You had サイトクリアユニット as Site clearance unit. Now, ignoring the fact that you changed the structure of the word i.e you changed Clear to clearance which you shouldn't do for a foreign name, you had サイト as site. Not wrong but this is where context is important when you translate. サイト sounds like Site and Sight. When you read the description of the item in LBXItemExplain, it says Recover from deteriorating visibility/vision condition. Which I'm going to write as 'Recover from Blind status' the standard status in RPGs for when you can't see but anyway, from that you know that it's sight not site.

There are a few context translation mistake in LBXSubName too. You had ナイト as Night, but since it also sounds the same as Knight, that's where you check the context. The description is uses 騎士 which is Knight.

Another is #RECORD 17 アイギスシールド and #RECORD 18 イージスシールド. Both you had as Aegis Shield. Now, sounding it out both do not sound the same. One is Aiges and the other is Aegis. Why, you ask? Because when you read the description, アイギスシールド is described as " A medium sized circular shield that bears the name of a legendary shield. Possesses defensive strength worthy of the name.". Now usually that would be the description given to Aegis but when you read the description for イージスシールド it is "The true strength of the legendary shield unleashed. Possesses the ultimate defensive performance."

That means that イージスシールド is the true one and gets the Aegis name which is also the proper pronunciation for イージス while アイギス is the sealed/leashed version and gets the weird Aiges name which sounds like アイギス. Kinda like the Excalipur - Excalibur thing in one of the FF games, though Excalipur was a fake and not the sealed version. So the weird one just gets the e and i switch around to make it look close enough to the true one and sounds kinda close to it too.

There are a few more but those are just spelling mistakes, not translation mistakes so I'm not mentioning those.

I have returned! I'll get to adding these files into the game later this week however. A bit busy with these final weeks of school and work.

Oh cool, welcome back :) I've got an error that I need to mention in one of my files. LBXArmExplain has Generic as Multi-purpose. Not the same thing. I misread it so if you can just take note that would be great. Also, here's the completed LBXCardExplain. :)

The LBX Item file was a bit confusing to me, especially the Main/Mine and the Aegis/Aiges thing in the Sub file.
Oh well, next time I won't repeat this mistake.
