Not entirely true.

When you get the pokemon they have their original japanese names but if you evolve them they take on the English names. My Monferno and Grotle now have English names because they've evolved.

Yes I was given Charmander and Bulbasaur at Lv.5 with all stats (from that level) as if they were from PKMN Fire Red.
No they don't show up in my Dex.

If you class it as cheating...so be it lol, the starters of this Gen aren't appealing.
