Cyberpunk 2077 has been removed from the PlayStation Store

As if CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 woes couldn't get any worse, the game has been pulled from the PlayStation Store. Sony Interactive Entertainment released a statement via their website announcing that the game has been removed until further notice, and anyone who wishes to have their game refunded will be able to do so.

SIE strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, therefore we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store. SIE will also be removing Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store until further notice.

Cyberpunk 2077 has been the subject of controversy since launch day, with many customers reporting framerate, loading, and game-breaking bug issues on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. CD Projekt Red themselves even issued an apology for the game's poor performance on last-gen consoles, and promised future updates to improve performance on these issues. As of right now, there's no word on when the game will return to the PlayStation store, or when refunds will be sent out for those who purchased a digital copy.

All that good will for not using DRM -- and for having Keanu Reeves. All gone now.

Lesson? Don't ship a product that is completely broken. Especially not a high-profile product.

THIS is now Projekt Red's reputation. THIS fiasco will be mentioned every time they announce something. THIS could have been avoided by a further delay.

I blame the DEV's they knew the game wasn't ready we seen all the warning signs delay after delay. They should have made sure the game was complete to play on all systems and did various testing. Rushing isn't a good thing because this game was highly anticipated and they over promised and under delivered
While it's understandable to blame the devs, I'm inclined to believe that it's the marketting/management departments fault. When in doubt, blame management.

lololol, that's funny, i bet sony got pissed with all the refund requests (that's why they didn't do it with NMS or FO76 on launch, because they didn't pissed them off that much, foxes). That's fine, the game is unplayable on these weak machines so why sell there? Although i found it a nice game on pc, DF's videos on the last gen kinda sums up what's going on there.

Well the thing is that this did need one more delay. To sort out more of the bugs and to have the PS5/XBSX version ready. And then the PS4/XB1 version needed even more time after that before launching.
It needed a new engine to fix the flaws that are more than skin deep. The engine was built for The Witcher, and you can tell. The driving is weird, the traffic is weird, the on rails vehicle shooting has a pre-determined outcome. The vehicles will crash in the same spots every time, and your damage is nerfed to the point that you will not actually kill the drivers or passengers. So much of the game screams cut corners and engine limitation.

I'm playing this game with my NVIDIA GTX 960M with full density (people walking, cars, etc) at 1280x720p and is a great experience. Stable 30fps.

You don't need run this game with High or Ultra graphics to enjoy it. Is a masterpiece.

I donno how everyone on here missed it but launching now was a brilliant idea: If you hire people to test the game for ya it will take ages, so better release it and have all bugs discovered and posted on youtube for free, so smart in my POV. Ps: Also a smart way to make it an Xbox exclusive lol

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
