Homebrew Custom Theme Thread

Put together a Super Mario 64 Theme based on the Title Screen and File Select, complete with music and SFX! Top screen scrolls, as displayed in the crappy pictures.

Enjoy! I certainly enjoy when it comes on the shuffle :D

Well, here's my first public theme:
Love Live! - Nozomi Toujou

My themes are available to download here: Roxie.nyc/3DS, as well as on 3DSThem.es.
μ's Music Start! Enjoy~<3

I'm thinking of doing themes of the other 8 μ's members following a similar template but with different music... Depends on if I feel like it, though.

My first attempt and I could say that this is not really my work. I only change the top and bottom picture and change its bgm.

I copy it from an awesome theme called New Japan Pro-Wrestling Lion Mark Logo (dont know who made it but full credit to him/her) and I use his/hers folder icon and sfx.

Got the picture from http://www.fansshare.com/gallery/photos/15218483/characters/. Dont know how to align the top and bottom picture :P . I set normal scroll for top and bottom

Has anything come out for people wanting to create theme but are on Mac yet? Might just have to look into wine or bootcamp otherwise.

I have a theme I'd really like to see happen until then though, if anyone would be willing to take a request. A scott pilgrim theme, the title screen being the top screen and the picture with everyone going towards the door, on the bottom screen. The song being the title screen music from the game: scott pilgrim title screen.jpgSoctt Pilgrim through door.jpg Really enjoyed the crap out of this game until I traded my 360 in for an Xbox One. Ah, good times. Maybe one day I'll cave and get a cheap PS3 to play it again.

EDIT: Would also love the Sex Bo-Bomb logo as the folder icon, but if that's a bit too much, don't even sweat it!

Time for me to share some themes I created a while ago and shared on 3DSThemes, plus an entirely new one!

Theme 1: The Simpsons: Hit & Run - Phone Booth Theme:

My first theme I created in YATA+ 1.3. This theme loosely replicates the design of the Phone Booth from The Simpsons: Hit & Run, a licensed Simpsons video game released in the year 2003 by Radical Entertainment. This is a game I used to play as a kid and loved back when I was younger, and have grown to appreciate more as I've gotten older. Backstory aside, this theme attempt to replicate the style of the Phone Booth seen in the game, which was a gameplay mechanic that allowed the player to call any cars that they had access to. In addition to using the blue gradient background seen in the Phone Booth from this game, it also contains the background track used from the original game, which is a pretty nice muzak remix of The Simpsons theme song composed by Danny Elfman! An excellent theme for fans of the game of The Simpsons alike.

Theme 2: Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Long Version (ROM Hack) - Genocide City Zone

My second theme that takes graphics from a rather well done Sonic the Hedgehog 2 ROM hack simply know as Sonic 2 Long Version by Sonic Hachelle-Bee. I take no credit for the sexy art, but this is probably one of my favorite bits of fan Sonic material, even if more recent information reveals that Genocide City Zone looked nothing like we thought it did or as this art reflects. Regardless, it comes with sound effects recorded straight from Sonic 2, making it my first theme to use custom sound effects. It also comes with Casino Night Zone's 2-Player track, which is used in this ROM hack as the background track for this Zone. Might make a theme for Hill Top Zone that re-uses these sound effects, but give this a try if you're a fan of the original 16-bit Sonic games!

Theme 3: Nintendo DS Firmware Mockup

A theme I made partially out of boredom, partially out of my sheer excitement of finding a cheap used DS Lite (which now has a stuck left shoulder button...D'oh!) that was in good condition. This theme attempts to replicate the DS Firmware screen seen in the original Phat DS and DS Lite models (where you see the clock, calander, and choose to select if you want to start a DS/GBA game assuming it's in Manual Mode). Ran into some issues creating this since I originally wanted to use the ticking sound that the clock made, but it sounded like crap on DeSume for some bizarre reason and I had no easy way of recording it from my DS Lite in good quality. Regardless, this does use some sounds from a real Nintendo DS, and sort of contains custom BGM that includes the original DS bootup sound, followed by some looping silence to best replicate the feel of the original DS firmware, which didn't have any noises despite the ticking.

The upper top of the screen on YATA 1.5 doesn't display properly, and I'm feeling lazy, so instead have real screenshots taken from my New 3DS XL. Please note that I'm not sure if this theme will display properly on a normal 3DS or an old 3DS XL since YATA doesn't display the top part correctly, but I'm going to assume that's an inaccuracy with the theme simulator included in the program.

Note that if there's a demand, I might update the DS Firmware Mockup screen to include other colors from the DS Firmware. Also, I might update this post later to include screenshots of the themes taken from my 3DS rather than using YATA's simulator. I'm a bit lazy at the moment.
