Hardware [Help] Custom 3DS Theme Music Refuses to Work—Tried Everything

I’m trying to use a specific song as my 3DS theme music.

• I’ve trimmed it to 36 seconds, mono, 16000 Hz, under 3.3 MB.
• I’ve used Audacity and Looping Audio Converter.
• I’ve tried WAV and MP3 sources, re-exported, and even added silence.
• Other BCSTM files from Theme Plaza work fine on my 3DS.
• No matter what, my custom BCSTM won’t play on the Home Menu (but works in Anemone3DS preview).

Can anyone try converting it, or has anyone seen this before?

So, you're saying it works with a different, substantially shorter song?

Because in that case the logical step is to make the song much, much shorter, and then try making it longer and longer until you find the point that it stops working.

Also, how large is your SD card?

I tried doing a shorter song myself but no dice. Any BCSTMs from themes already on ThemePlaza work however. I may be making them wrong.

My MicroSD card is 512 GB by the way. Not sure if SD/MicroSD card size is the culprit.
Also, mine's a Samsung 512 GB MicroSD bought in-store from Best Buy as I've avoided buying MicroSD cards online due to higher chances of fakes if anyone asks. Yes, it's formatted to FAT32 as well.

Very large SD cards have indeed been known to have problems with themes. (Also, you are never going to fill up 512 GB of space unless you install heaps of stuff you are never going to actually play, but that's a different issue.)

This is why I have a big problem with subject lines like "Tried Everything".

Ended up using Metal's BGM guide from the ThemePlaza DIscord, used the version of Audacity and Looping Audio Converter recommended by them, had to speed up the full song I wanted to use, and now I got BCSTMs I've made to work on my custom 3DS theme at long last.


P.S.: I tried a 64 GB SD Card that's on my other hacked 3DS XL and had the same issue before I resorted to Metal's BGM guide.
