Homebrew Custom Theme Thread

Has the version of the theme with this icon been uploaded anywhere yet?

Updated for you right now :)

EDIT: If you don't like the yellow, I ended up making a change back to the silver look (you probably downloaded it before the update, so you can just click that v2 link again to get the new one). It has that annoying wake theme but I admit everything else fits nicer visually with the theme. It's much better, IMO, and I couldn't resist going back just to see how it looked with the new folder style. I think it will be easier to hex edit out the wake music than mess with the colors when I feel the colors are perfect with the other template.

Has anyone made a theme with a blue color scheme yet? I really wish I could base the theme I'm finishing up on something like this. The only themes on this thread so far either have the coin sound, or have a purple color scheme

Oh no... I think I broke my extdata or something

No matter what I do, the 3DS defaults to the basic white theme. I keep telling it to use the persistent theme cache, I double checked the dumped theme cache to see that my theme is there, even rebooted a number of times with different themes selected, but the 3DS doesn't want to use my theme anymore...

Any ideas?

Did you go into the theme manager on the home screen and try changing themes there to fix it? I read that could fix a situation like you're describing, hope it works!

I did. But I only have basic themes. I tried turning the 3DS off with a color theme enabled, and turning it back on. It does turn back on with the correct color theme, but still won't show my custom theme. I'll keep trying...

EDIT: I fixed it! Or, rather, the 3DS fixed itself, I guess :P

In the new version of the extdata tool, there are two options for the enable theme cache, so unless you're choosing the wrong one I can't really guess anything else that could help.

Thanks, I got it. My savedata file was being kind of glitchy I guess. Now if only I can find a blue theme template...

Still the same results:(

My image is panoramic and is 1008x256 in size (1008 in width this is all that the top screen will display without cutting over), and found that 400x240 is displayed, just by seeing what does and doesn't get cut off. Note that if the image is exactly 400x240, the theme generator will glitch up, so seeing what you have, it looks like you're doing it right - it has to be 412x256, but only the first 400x240 quadrant will be displayed.

It may have something to do with your theme base being panoramic, as some themes have different configurations that we don't have access to yet.

EDIT: Took another look at your image, and the width is actually 512. Try changing the size to 412x256 and see what happens.

Might as well post this here too. Here's a theme that doesn't change anything at all visually, but *does* enable you to add music using bgm.bscstm. Useful if you want custom music but don't want to use any of the themes people have posted.

The body_LZ format is still only partially documented, but if I ever figure out how to clone the built-in coloured themes, I'll make one for them as well.

So this is just a white blank theme then? It crashes the theme editor, but no surprise there :P

Would it be possible to compare what you've just posted vs other themes to see how buttons are colored?

Do you know how to edit out the music (CWAV, I think) that some themes play when you open/close the 3DS? I would love to have the one edited out of v2 of my Metroid theme.

EDIT: Ah, I see what that is. I opened it decompressed in a hex editor. It just has the first byte and the sixth byte set to 1, everything else 0. Heheh.
