I hate to break it to you dude, but you messed up in filetrip AGAIN. The new extensions pack is the old gba pack....

Yes, the extension icons still work for the most part. (the dpg and mp3 ones are useless unless your using a pre 1.6 AKAIO version)

Also, there is a bit of a bug in 1.6, so the extension icons should go in the same directory as the txt, bak, or sav you are using, NOT in the 'icons' folder like before

Thanks

If you run homebrew games and apps on your Acekard like I know I do, then I'm sure you've noticed that a lot of them don't have their own icon (or one that's just plane fugly).
So, I thought I'd put AKAIO's custom icon feature to the test, and made a grip of bad-ass little pictures that replace the boring and repetitive generic default icon.

Homebrew Icons

to use these, rename the .bmp to correspond with your .nds file
and place both files in the same directory...these dont go in the icon folder

Hey again, you Acekard freaks. I decided to see if custom icons would work with .gba, like they do for .nds . And sho' 'nuff, they work for GBA games, too=) So to kick things off, I started by making icons for all the GBAtemp Recommends titles (which I will try to keep up with

), and some games I personally like, too.

And now...
Last, but definitely not least, here's the file extension icons

Extension icons

To use these, place them in the 'icons' folder of your Acekard
Note: there is a bit of a bug in 1.6, so the extension icons should go in the same directory as the txt, bak, or sav you are using, NOT in the 'icons' folder like before

GBA and NDS icons can also be used with WoodRPG and WoodR4
Its a little bit of a different setup to use them with Wood. Place the properly named icons in /__RPG/icons. The icons need to have the extension type (.nds or .gba) attached ie: AnotherWorld.gba.bmp
thumbs up

I love this feature in AKAIO, it makes picking a GBA game so much more enjoyable. I know I've said this before, but great work Vato. I can appreciate it even more now that I own an AK2. I also made up a quick icon for Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones and thought I'd post it.

i was wondering if the "bug" in AKAIO 1.6 rc2 with the icon folder was fixed in AKAIO 1.7. The one where you need to put extension icons in the folder with the files not the icon folder. I hope that makes sense.

mmkay, GBA carts. hmm, well..
Using a retail game within akaio, no , i 99.99% sure custom gba icons wont show up on the SD/GBA/shortcut menu...but, u may as well try it and post back yer results.

...and if u meant using a slot-2 flash cart, the only one that has/had icon support was G6, and i think the sizing and attributes were different.

Why GBA icons aren't named correctly like in this package?

Oh well, since you asked so kindly, let me get right on renaming THE WHOLE GBA PACK WITH PROPER RELEASE NAMES, JUST FOR YOU....not.

Im not here to spoon-feed your file naming needs.

These icons are named correctly for my purposes.

Dont be a lame, its really not fukking hard to rename them to match your needs.

and if youre too lazy to do that, then simply just dont use them.

Sorry. I didn't mean to be rude or anything
ohnoes.png

It's just that all good rom places names their games correctly like: "Game name (U) [!].gba" and pack has "game.gba". I didn't mean to change names for just me but to match them with correct (U) names that everyone doesn't have to rename it. You don't have to if you don't want to.

I were doing missing icons with Gimp but how do you make those transparent areas? Alpha doesn't seem to work with bmp format.
