Thats what im going to speak to the coders about tonight
I am going to create a link that is similar to whats used at the moment , except its goint to have 2 extra fields in the link - username and password

instead of the normal http://www.wiiboxart.com/resize/160/225/AAAA.png link they should be able to use http://www.wiiboxart.com/resize/160/225/us...ssword/AAAA.png where each username and password is unique and can be set from the wii and on the site locked to an Ip address for a week at a time.

Thats the plan anyway - but 1000 gigs of data is just getting out of hand.

Your covers may not be working because of the size your using 160x225 is native site size , 160x224 is some loaders requirements.

they worked perfectly till yesterday. I am download the zips, but it takes ages to make them, giving people access to FTP would be quicker. just an idea

Lol - the site auto creates the images to the sizes required - giving people access to the FTP would mean they get the default images which are JPG for one and not PNG and they are 3220x1290 for the full covers so you would have to resize it and convert them to PNG yourself - it would take longer that way

"Your covers may not be working because of the size your using 160x225 is native site size"

I downloaded the covers from your site and I'm using coverflow RC7 so they should be working?

from page 1

Covers
*Must be 160x224 PNG

now having to use a batch resizer to do it.

will let you know if it solves the problem.

yep the problem is the ones downloaded from your site are the wrong size for Coverflow RC7, Not so clever.

Which is why i put the sizes option into the top of the site :S
Do i have to catch your hand to show u how to change the size in the box ??

djatz,

I don't mean to be an ass here. But your treading on thin ice with the donation process of dling in bulk. I fully understand why you are doing it, don't get me wrong. I appreciate what you do. But you don't want to get screwed in the process.

1- Your serving Copywrited material
2- Your charging to download Copywrited material (The feds don't care that your not making a profit)

I am just saying.

The Wii Forums have been getting very lose of late. I think some caution should be practiced.

On a seperate note,

Is there any plan for supporting ALT-DOL in CoverFloader?

I'm sure we'll have a fix for downloads very soon. It's already being worked on in preparation for the changes to WiiBoxart.
I think it's too easy to take djtaz's site for granted with the growing number of loaders that grab covers from there without the user knowing anything about it. IMO it's a good thing that people should have to create an account even if just to make them think "Hey, there's a guy here who makes this all so easy for us"

Im threading on thin ice just by having the site running at all really - nothing to do with donations or bulk downloading.
The feds make no difference to me as im not in the US and their power is quite limited here , but that being said , if i get complaints from Nintendo or someone else then ill take some approperiate action.
Im not charging to download copyright material - you can download any of it for free, im charging for access to a section of the site that makes it easier to download everything faster in one zip file.

I take it back about it being a good idea to have a login for member so that they can only download, I think everyone should be able to download, and if they want to donate then fine. I'm sure people would donate.

but then that's just my opinion.

I think people should always donate. Regardless. It is some one doing something nice. You don't have a buck. I give a buck to a homeless person every so often. I can give it to some one that is doing something.

Djatz,

That method may work. Trust me, its good not to be in the states.

no point in getting an updated version of this, they are planning to password protect it and you will only get access to it if you have donated. only usb loader that you have to pay for using. if someone has webspace, I have all the covers from the site. they are complaining about the amount of bandwidth, well if someone has a site or wants to make one we can upload them all.

Every usb loader uses the boxart site at the moment so it has nothing to do with this loader - dont blame the lads who work hard on this project , they are being forced to change the way they work by the way i wrote my code on the boxart site

Any loader that wishes to auto download from the wiiboxart.com site will need to impliment the same system.

Good luck getting someone to code and host a site thats using over 1000 gigs of bandwidth a month.

As i said - you pay for the bandwidth and ill put the site back to being free again. I think thats a very valid offer but u keep ignoring it.

ive added the cover for the conduit to the right folder, but it wont show in coverfloader still. Also the game ID from the boxart site looks confused. Both the PAL and WII version have the same ID. that cant be right. anyone else having trouble getting the cover to show for this game?

How much is the total cost to get the site "free" again ? (monthly?)

I'm just trying Coverflow for the first time today, and without covers, it is useless

They have to pay for bandwidth but with advertising they will cover it. and if it's too much, close the site!! Simples!

someone else that can afford to do it will

Kosiac , all thats required for a donation is 1 euro (though i did get 50 cent last night) so to make it free for you from now on will be 1 euro.

Id prefer to spread the cost of the bandwidth over a few people. Its not like anyone needs this stuff , they can still get all the covers free on the site if they want one by one.

This months is already sorted out with the system i have in place now , so i have proven it works and its not killing anyone.
