Hey guys! Recently I was trying to convert a Japanese game XCI to NSP to install, but when I installed it my switch said the data was corrupted. I deleted it and then tried to install again and was given an error. This happened to me before with another Japanese XCI game. However I have gotten other Japanese XCIs converted and booted without problems.

My question is, have any of you experienced this? If so, how did you fix this? I've tried to do some digging and apply carry out some suggestions already, but haven't had any luck :(

TLDR: Some Japanese XCIs convert wrongly and can't play them. Any help would be appreciated!

Never had problems converting XCIs to NSPs with 4NXCI.

Have you installed the latest sigpatches?
Missing sigpatches can also be the cause of games not starting.

There were some people out there with fake SD cards where they bought 512GB cards for $10 on ebay.

I'm not sure if you can convert a corrupt XCI.
But maybe check if the CRC of the file matches the nswdb.com database.
Not all games are listed though...

I did install all sig patches from joonie (something like that) which is why I can get almost all other games to work. The only time I've had a problem is with these two Japanese games.

It could be my SD Cards dying. I know it's not fake since I tested it when I got it. It's also fat32 so it's not the dreaded exfat corruption either.

Maybe I'll try an XCI from a couple of other sources and see how that works out. Just trying to get my Vanguard fix since I can't fall down the rabbit hole of buying them IRL again lol.

Alrighty, I got it fixed. I installed the patches from the "sweet patches thread" and then installed joonies patches again. I downloaded the XCI from another source and installed again and it worked! Don't know what happened, but something must have not transferred right the first time maybe. I see some others with the same problem so my advice is just to download sig patches again and do a reboot and try another source for the NSP/XCI.
