[CONFIRMED] Punch-Out!! Wii

Massive news for long-time Nintendo fans has just reached us, courtesy of the latest issue of UK Magazine NGamer - Punch Out!!! has been confirmed for the Nintendo Wii and will feature Balance Board support.

The publication writes that the revival of one of the best-loved boxing simulators ever will be featured at the E3 Expo in San Francisco next week, and will utlise Balance Board support for dodging and weaving during bouts, while the Wii Remote and Nunchuck will be used to throw punches:
"...And if all goes to plan (and our sources haven't played a mean trick on us), that hands-on coverage will be of Animal Crossing and Punch-Out!! Wii, aka Nintendo's great hopes for 2008."

That's all we know so far, but we'll bring you much more on Punch-Out!! Wii as soon as we get it.

That's good news.. Punch-out on the NES is still a fun game and the Wii is perfect for a Punch out game! Just hope that you can play it without the Balance Board.. or at least that Nintendo give us a Punch-out + Balance Board bundle..

Still, I hope that's not all that Nintendo has to show us on E3.. can't wait until Tuesday..

I think they should have more then just Punch-Out and Animal Crossing... I`m really tired of seeing all the discussions about the games for PS3 and X360 and then the discussions about Nintendo: what will they announce and something like that... There is nothing special coming this year if you ask me!

If the Wii would have great 3rd party support like the DS it wouldn`t matter for me...

Finally a decent boxing game for the Wii??!!

If this is true, then I´ll really give in and buy the balance board!!

I do hope they keep some of the old characters, though. Nothing against adding new ones, but keeping some of the nostalgia would be a selling point for us long time fans!
