v57.11 of Configurator is out

Download here or use online update (via Actions menu)

Changes:
  • Added options to match 57b7 (theme previews, preview_coords, wpreview_coords)
  • Added What's New feature. Push F3 or select from menu to highlight new options/buttons in red and significantly moved options/buttons in green. F3 works in the other wizards too.
  • Ability to delete surplus covers for games you don't have on the drive
  • Ability to delete covers for a selected game
  • Theme Preview options added to the console wizard.
Sample cdbs aren't updated yet. I'll do that in a day or two.

57b7 will be out shortly...

Hi Dr. Clipper
How I can submit a Theme for CFG database?

sign up at spiffy360 and upload it but make sure the themes files are in a direct .zip file, meaning not in a million sub folders

Does anyone know why Configurable USB Loader (latest version) won't show my installed games (which are located on the root of my USB HDD in a folder called "wbfs")? The games are on a USB HDD formatted to FAT32. I have cIOS222/223 rev 4 installed (required for reading from FAT/NTFS partitions). I'm also using the correct cIOS222 version of Configurable USB Loader, and it can see the drive and the partition (shown in the Global Options screens) without error. I suspect I'm missing a cIOS of some sort. Anyone have any ideas?
IOS222/223 is no longer required for FAT32/NTFS. I suspect your games are not named correctly. If the drive is FAT formatted, install one with Cfg (push +) and you'll see what you did wrong. Alternatively, read the first post of the Cfg thread. It explains what you need to do there to name your games correctly.

Downloading cover art from the Wii with the loader is problematic. It's more reliable to do them one at a time but usually it takes a couple tries. Trying to do the whole lot at once will still have half of them not quite finish while it still has to download ones it already has. Maybe it doesn't like my FAT16 SD card. Very often going into a view mode when there's a corrupt image afoot will be a crash, and sometimes just trying to download one via the loader is dangerous.

The configurator on a PC does the job of downloading covers much better.

Hey!

was just wondering about the configurator, is ther any way to "lock" a theme?

im using a special way to browse my games and i would like to keep it like that, think it's the GUI i want locked.
i might be blind for not seeing the option(if said option exists)

anyhowz, thanks in advance.

Thanks for the answer and sorry for the delay on my answer.

I have a question about the configs of themes and hope someone can help me.
I have maked some themes (hosted in spiffy now), but I dont have a wide TV for test. My doubt is how to set the coords of the text and the console for wide wizzard in Configurator.
When I set to view the image in wide mode, de image stretch and I don't know what parameter I must use as a base, cause with the stretched image I can't do this visualy.

Anybody can help me?

What do you mean by locking a theme?

Is it just that you want to remain in the GUI style that you have selected? If so, there is a global option you can set: "gui_lock=1". If not, please explain exactly what you mean and I will try to answer you better.

You should treat the wide image as being a resolution of about 800*480 square pixels, but with only 640*480 pixels in the space. Probably the best way to set coordinates with the Configurator is to use an 800*480 or 854*480 image as the background image in the 16:9 console wizard (this will display the image compressed to the correct ratio) then you can set the coordinates to match.

Another way is to take your background image size and do the following calculations:

Image size (width*height) will be W*480 where W is greater than or equal to 640.

Now, if you want a specific coordinate to appear at (X,Y), then the numbers you should use in the option value are (X*640/W, Y). Similarly, If you want to convert a widescreen width Z to a value for the options, use the same formula (Z*640/W).
