Makes no difference. Just nothing is being downloaded except he 2D ones.

The muntrue and boxart override the downloads somehow. If i leave them out the downloading from wiitdb goes numb. From the 212 covers this is the result,
2d - 36 missing
3d - 212 missing
disc - 139 missing
full - 212 missing

I used these links
Code:

Some of your links that you show there are missing the / between {CC} and {ID6}. This doesn't really explain all of your issues, but it does explain a few. If you can give me an example of a cover that should be found by the links and isn't, please let me know. I just need the ID and your list of links.

The missing / was a typo because i checked the used sets and they where here.

List of links used:

Code:
2d: http://wiitdb.com/wiitdb/artwork/cover/US/{ID3}E{PUB}.png
3d: http://wiitdb.com/wiitdb/artwork/cover3D/US/{ID3}E{PUB}.png
disc: http://wiitdb.com/wiitdb/artwork/disc/US/{ID3}E{PUB}.png
full: http://wiitdb.com/wiitdb/artwork/coverfull...{ID3}E{PUB}.png
ÂÂÂÂÂÂ http://wiitdb.com/wiitdb/artwork/coverfull...{ID3}E{PUB}.png

covers that should be downloaded from wiitdb

http://wiitdb.com/Game/RJ2E52
http://wiitdb.com/Game/R5WEA4

As you can see the whole sets is there.
But only the 2d is downloaded.

Cover Wizard Beta 3 of Configurator is out

download here

Features of the Cover Beta 3:
  • Fixed implementation of {PUB} tag to work on non-2D covers (thanks The-Magician)
  • Fixed auto-detection of gamelist.txt when launching Configurator from the base directory
  • Let the URL boxes (in both the Global Options and Cover Wizard) accept the Return key (This bug has been around since I released the first Configurator, I'm surprised nobody ever asked me about it)
So basically, a slew of bug fixes. No changes to translation files are necessary.

Have been testing it and works flawless now. Thanks for the effort. Still i have a little question. Now when exit the program the paths and the urls that i have typed are gone as well is there a possibility that they are being kept?
This is a tricky one as I want to keep the compatibility with the options from Cfg. There are ways to get it to remember pretty easily, though. The URLs can be saved in config.txt. That way, you just need to read config.txt every time you start before going to the cover wizard.

To automate the paths, I use a little trick. The Configurator looks at the name of the sub-directory from where you loaded config.txt (or the location of the .exe if you didn't load config.txt). If it finds that name somewhere in the covers_path options, it will autofill the Path options in the cover wizard.

Thus, if you are using the default values for the covers paths:
covers_path_2d = sd:/usb-loader/covers
covers_path_3d = sd:/usb-loader/covers/3d
covers_path_disc = sd:/usb-loader/covers/disc
covers_path_full = sd:/usb-loader/covers/full

And you have the exe or config.txt stored in, say, C:\Cfgstuff\usb-loader

Then you will find that the Covers wizard will automatically select the following paths:
2D Path = C:\Cfgstuff\usb-loader/covers
3D Path = C:\Cfgstuff\usb-loader/covers/3d
Disc Path = C:\Cfgstuff\usb-loader/covers/disc
Full Path = C:\Cfgstuff\usb-loader/covers/full

The direction of the slashes doesn't matter for the app, it accepts both.

Thus, the very easiest way to run this is just to have the Configurator stored in your base directory (typically sd:\usb-loader) and run it from there as it will autodetect both your gamelist.txt and the cover directories. The next version will likely prompt to load a config.txt found in the base directory too (don't know why I never did that yet).

v51 of Configurator is out

download here

Changes:
  • Official addition of cover downloading
  • If config.txt is in the executable's directory, you will be prompted to load it during startup (settings.cfg and theme.txt will also be found if present)
  • Added buttons to download titles.txt and wiitdb.zip
  • Added new options compatible with v51b (same as v51a with a few tweaks)
  • Added titles.txt and wiitdb.zip to install wizard
  • Accept new naming scheme for loading games folders to match upcoming v51b release
  • Various bug-fixes and clean-ups
Translators: Sample CDBs were updated (configurator and installwiz changed).

Edit:The new naming scheme feature was only just added. The download link is the same due to it being a very minor fix. Redownload if you got the first version and want to use the new naming scheme.

great leaps and bounds in this latest version - many thanks

few suggestions:

1) i have a few fat drives for me and diferent kids, (i've 3 wiis hence the need for cfgusbloader!)
anyway, it doesnt help that when i load the cfg from the U: drive, that it picks up the K: config...
can it stick to looking ONLY at the drive that it has loaded from?

2) what about a simple mode, whereby you load a) update "wiitdb" and titles, then gets config & settings & titles all in one go IF they are in the same directory together?
similarly, i like the install, but couldnt it just write config & settings in a simple mode?

that sounds lame, but most of the time, i ('we?') dont mess about with themes, get the feeling it never truly took off, sorry. contraversial, no offence, but surely most people just want to get covers sorted easily (nice update BTW!), sort games to profile, have music changable by replacing contents of e.g. "u:\music". ie background pics maybe arent done THAT often (compared to those others)

3) not sure if you can make tabs within tabs, but how about a top layer "themes" and "global" and in each of those have themes_1 and themes_2, global_1, global_2. Guessing you would just need 2 tabs, not 4 with all that extra space.
that could help even if you dont fancy the simple mode

4) covers - can the path be autodetected as "disk_loaded_from:\covers" (U:\covers) and populate all the 3d/full/etc from there?

5) maybe store a configurator/ini in its start folder that holds cover paths, and thinks like language ("EN") drive ("SD" or "USB") to be used as the defaults when you load up? i think that may clerar up the clutter (sorry) of asking for language every tab, and go relative paths from that drive letter for covers, etc (ie "usb:\" is gray, changable from a INI tab (problems with the name there?) and the editable but is "covers\3d" and so on.

you'll be glad to know i'll shut up now!!! again, no offence, some of that might READ a bit roughly, but no harm intended - i love the app, really, and couldnt live without it!!

This shouldn't happen. Are you saying that you are selecting config.txt on one drive and it loads one from a different drive? I have no idea why that would happen, but I'll look into it.

Well, the install wiz has that setting to just write config and settings. I'm planning to add check boxes to that wizard to allow you to download the titles and database too, which seems to be what you are asking for.

3) not sure if you can make tabs within tabs, but how about a top layer "themes" and "global" and in each of those have themes_1 and themes_2, global_1, global_2. Guessing you would just need 2 tabs, not 4 with all that extra space.

It could be done, but I doubt it would look that good. It's nice to be able to switch between the override options and either page of theme options, and that would require multiple clicks if nested tabs were used.

4) covers - can the path be autodetected as "disk_loaded_from:\covers" (U:\covers) and populate all the 3d/full/etc from there?
If you put the Configurator into the covers directory, it will auto-detect them already. Also, if the covers are in a sub-directory of where you loaded config.txt from or where the executable is if you didn't load config.txt, it will detect them. I guess if those checks fail, that I can add something to try to find the covers directory on the same drive as the config.txt location too, so as long as config.txt is on U: or you launch the Configurator on U:, it will find the cover directories by replacing "sd:/" or "usb:/" in the covers_path options with "U:\". It'll be in the next version.

You can add these changes to config.txt and it will be remembered for next time. It will only ask you for language if the {CC} or {DBL} tag exists in the path options (and only then if you haven't set download_cc_pal and db_language to something other than AUTO), so replace those and save in config.txt and you'll never need to answer the language question again. I'm loathe to add necessity for other files or registry keys if I can avoid it.

you'll be glad to know i'll shut up now!!! again, no offence, some of that might READ a bit roughly, but no harm intended - i love the app, really, and couldnt live without it!!
Nice to hear it, and I always welcome suggestions. Thanks.

v51.1 of Configurator is out

download here

Changes:
  • Added new 2 value for fat_install_dir to match 51b3.
  • The directory where config.txt is loaded from or the executable's directory are looked at to see if they contain the correct directory structure for covers replacing sd:/, usb:/ or ntfs:/ with the root directory.
  • The install wizard now has options to download titles.txt and wiitdb.zip. You can change the default languages used to replace AUTO with the cdbs.
  • The install wizard now lets you optionally choose whether to generate config.txt and theme.txt (it was mandatory previously).
  • Font creation adds the Euro and Trademark symbols to the character map.
  • Various bug fixes
Translators: Sample CDBs were updated (installwiz changed).

Edit: xakmad, I can't reproduce your U:/K: thing. Can you please provide some more information of exactly which files are present and how you are choosing them. Your OS would also be interesting to know.

Edit 2: Just realised you may have been talking about it keeping the settings for an old config when you load a new config. This is done so that you can do things like merge theme files together. If this is your problem, just close and open the Configurator before loading each. Perhaps I can add a reset all button to reset all options to default as well. Please let me know if this is the issue and whether you'd like the new button.

Edit 3: I've reuploaded a new version of 51.1 to add the new option from 51b3. Download from this post again if you want the fat_install_dir=2 value to be valid.

i get your point. in that case should "EN" and "PAL" be in global somewhere, instead of dotted around different options?

apols that the quotes so long but helpedf keep track!!!

as a BTW i'm pretty sure the 51b didnt like some covers as mentioned in the other thread - http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=147638&st=7500
heredoes the exer here use the same LIBPNG library as the usbcfgloader? just wondering.
maybe 51 beta 3 fixed it, maybe it was my old backup - wondering if anyone has similar issues

Ah, OK. Good to hear.

the install confused me with base paths and all sorts - i just want to install those 4 which i read (ie the first 2 are installed already and the changed config settings get written)
If you just want to rewrite config and download new titles.txt and wiitdb.zip, do the following:[*]Read existing config.txt (this should autofill the base directory in the install wizard)[*]Click "Install all files" button[*]Select the checkboxes to download titles.txt and wiitdb.zip (config.txt generation is checked by default)[*]Click the install buttonThe fields that are blank within the install wizard do not generate any action, so just ignore them if you don't want to change them and they will stay as they were before. The only field which must be filled in is the base directory (which is autofilled when reading a config.txt), as that tells it where everything else needs to go.

mmm, maybe
wink.gif
however would have been hand for those not touchiong the theme side of things, as mentioned profiles/favs/hidden get changed more often than a PNG

I still don't see the problem. You can jump directly to any of those tabs with one click as it is now. Nested tabs would mean you'd have to click twice to get to the ones you want.

lovely, those extra checks would be nice!!
Well, they were added in 51.1, so go ahead and try it out
smile.gif
. I guess I had a typo in the description that didn't make it very obvious before.

i get your point. in that case should "EN" and "PAL" be in global somewhere, instead of dotted around different options?
and i wonder why it asked the DL language - maybe it was a one off, maybe you fixed it below, no matter

It's dotted around different ptions because those are the same options used by Cfg itself. The Configurator uses the same data to create the links. The only thing it doesn't have access to is your Wii's country setting, which is why that question is sometimes asked.

It will only ask the language if you have the {CC} tag in titles_url and download_cc_pal is set to AUTO, or you have the {DBL} tag set in db_url and db_language set to AUTO. Note that the defaults are set up this way, but you can easily add your own values instead of the AUTO setting.

The download method now available on the install wizard works slightly differently, simply assuming English if the options are set to AUTO (this default can be changed using the translation methods).

apols that the quotes so long but helpedf keep track!!!

as a BTW i'm pretty sure the 51b didnt like some covers as mentioned in the other thread - http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=147638&st=7500

The Configurator just attempts to save whatever it downloads as a .PNG. I guess an Internet error or something could cause a file to be saved incorrectly. Try looking through your covers with the Configurator and seeing if any of the images display incorrectly. If you do find an invalid one, try downloading it again and see if that fixes the problem. If it doesn't, then let me know what the ID and cover type is and I can find out what the problem is.

reckon that finding that rogue png would be impossible by now - would be helpful if the debug paused (press 'A' button) whenever it reached a dodgy PNG, and reported the 6-letter code, then we could blip that out. TG for backups!!

many thanks for the hints - very helpful as usual.
keep up the good work!!!

Just click through the games in the Configurator. A bad .png will likely display as faulty (probably as a big X) or just won't look right.

@ Dr Clipper

i dont know if its been mentioned before but ive created a new config.txt using 51.2(and previous versions) and i get this then its reloaded via the configurator

Invalid Option Line 59 (unkown option):
write_playstats = 1

Invalid Option Line 62 (invalid value):
download_id_len = 2

with the download_id_len = 2, this seems to be added when download_id_len = 6 is selected in the configurator, so both download_id_len = 2 and download_id_len = 6 entries are writen to the config.txt even tho download_id_len = 2 is not a selectable value in the updated configurator.

also the fat_split_size = 2/4 doesnt seem to be written to the config.txt on export

v51.3 of Configurator is out

download here

Thanks very much to pepxl for spotting the bugs.

Changes:
  • Converted "/" to "\" when auto-filling cover directories in the wizard (some drive mappings disliked them)
  • Fixed reading of write_playstats option
  • Fixed writing of fat_split_size option (it was using download_id_len's code)
No translation changes.

just had an idea - no two!
1) can you add the .3 of the 51.3 to the loader easily, maybe from a build version comment you have in your source - i can never decide if i'm using the correct one...

more importantly

2) what about a made up column in your (fantastic!) 'manage games per profile' BUT this one checks the box IF the game is in any real profile (ie ignore the hidden one as thats not a profile!!!)
call it "alive" or something
the idea is to make sure no games slip thru the net and dont appear on any profile.
it MIGHT be easier to count the number of tick and put a number.
naturally an a-z sort will bring all the unloved forgotten about games to the top.

3) ok you'll hate me for this (as if you dont already
wink.gif
) but can the sort default on Profiles to z-a instead of a-z on the first click, as surely we all work at the top of the list, if you see what i mean...
Profiles here would include the "alive" and "hidden" columns, but not the game-name which would start a-z and go z-a after.

4) ok, really digging bad now.... i dont think it does this- when i click column "dad" and get my checkbox stuff to top, can it always always do the games a-z for the checks and then continue a-z on my unchecked?

5) maybe "playstats" could find there way into a column one day just for reference?

6) LOL - cant wait to try 51.3 , i'm getting the hang of the app now

at least i thought so until i overwrote my perfect config with a one-liner os ONLY profile names
can you auto-backup a history of config1.txt config2.txt somewhere. they are tiny and am sure noone would object to the diskspace. if its too cluttery, what about a "config backups" folder where the config.txt was loaded from

BTW the reason a couldnt spot the dud cover was id wiped it when i did the restore from backup

Cheers (and goodnight!) - send me a PM to p.o. if i'm truly a pain in the arse... i'll still have utmost respect for you and the good work you do

I just dislike that they don't let me choose the voices before the game starts. Happened with botw as well, had to change to japanese and restart.
