I know I (and millions of people) said this before, but: How the hell do I get Kirby's Return to Dreamland to work? Every other game works perfectly, except this one.

Kirby return to dreamland isn't a problem game as far as i know, it runs fine on cIOS d2x r7 base IOS56 or d2x 8. Just install that to slot 249 and it should work perfectly.

I finished that game about two weeks ago on cfg 70. More likely you have a bad dump.

Let me elaborate: The problem is that when I pick "Main Mode" from the main menu, the screen turns black, and the game freezes. Any help?

EDIT: Just tried WiiFlow. Still didn't work.

Kirby Return to Dreamland and The Smurf's Dance Party don't work under WiiFlow or WiiFlow-mod. I have no problems running either from CFG. What cIOS are you using? If you install the latest v8beta-r42 they work fine and I've also had no problems running them under v8beta-r41 and earlier cIOS's. Have you changed any of the default options and what version of CFG are you using?

"what version of CFG are you using?"

The latest one.

EDIT: It's v70-r22.

I also just recently installed d2x v8 beta r42, but it still won't get past the main menu.

How do I work the gameconfig.txt? Where do I put it?

I was hoping someone could help me with an off configuration issue. At one point when I pressed the B button it displayed a black box on the right side of the screen with the games in a list format. Now only the currently highlighted game is displayed (in yellow). I have a feeling I accidentally changed the text color of the non-highlighted text to black and it isn't showing up on the black background. What config option controls this?

The same thing happens when you run a game. It used to show some progress text in the black box on the right when you started a game. Now the black box is empty and then the page transitions to the start of the game.

TIA

I have it running from USB. There it works on a regular hard disk formatted as FAT32 and on a thumb USB flash drive formatted as FAT32.

What System Menu are you running? 4.3(U)? What did you use to mod your Wii?

It's 4.3u and I used Letterbomb.

Every other game works perfectly, what's wrong with this one?

Letterbomb and what else? Did you use MMM or PimpMyWii to fix all the stubs and complete patching or just install the v8beta-r42 cIOS's? Do you have Priiloader or anything else to block internet and disc channel updates?

Are you using a hard disk or SD card? And is the hard disk formatted as WBFS, FAT32, NTFS?

No, PimpMyWii is often called BrickMyWii. I'll let you figure out why. ;)

I found it to be useless anyway.

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)
