Okay. Well, according to the site I got the Hermes cios from, it was v5.1. How do I get CFG to recognize the cios?
By yourself, you cannot. It's something that would need to be added by oggzee...

Well, I tried reinstalling 222, and this time used a different guide, which tells you to also remove your HDD from the Wii (which I didn't do before), and for whatever reason, now 222 is seen as v5.1. Unfortunately, the game still black-screens. Is it possible the other cIOSes not recognized by CFG could affect it any way. Perhaps I need to reinstall those as well?

Like I said before, the fact that a cIOS is not recognized by Cfg Usb Loader doesn't necessarily mean they are faulty. Try checking with other user which have the game working, exactly which version of cIOS they have and maybe it can help you figure it out...

Not likely.
If it works for other people maybe you have a bad dump?

Could be. Only reason I was trying to first find a workaround was I had read a few other replies from folks also saying they had issues with the game at that exact area and that 222 supposedly corrected the problem.

Will try another back-up copy, though.

Thanks for your help, guys.

Hi,

I don't know if someone already mentioned this small issue, but when you sort your games by pressing 1 and then go to 'View' and then 'Sort'. If you go to the right, it works until I reach the last option, if I press the right arrow again, the loader freezes. I'm using 68d so maybe this problem is already fixed by now.

What type of partition do you use?
The sort by install date only works on fat/ntfs/ext not wbfs, and it takes a second or two to complete.
However it shouldn't freeze completely, i haven't tested what happens on wbfs so it might be a bug.

I use a FAT32 (32 kb Cluster size). All games were installed in 1 action on that hard drive (copy of another drive), so maybe that's the problem. I haven't tested a lot with it, only noticed that it freezed (let's say for at least 10 seconds, because I turned off my wii of course).

I think it was already standing on sort by install date and that it froze when I pressed the right arrow again, but I'm not sure of that, I'm at my work now so can't test it before this evening.

@oggzee
I use CFG as default loader a long time ago. But now im using uneek+di and I would like to know if you could create a CFG version to uneek+di or, if you can do CFG able to load games using uneek (discex) format.
Both solutions are great to me,,, cause I dont like wiiflow and usb loader gx. Then I can still using CFG to load my game. I dont care if wbfs or discex format,,,, just using CFG

thx a lot and gz for this GREAT loader!!!

I have tried it now on wbfs and fat and it doesn't freeze for me, also not if it's already set to install date and i press right again.
But it is true that it takes a second or two and if you have a very large game collection it might take a little more, so please try again, and allow for up to 1 minute to be sure if it's just slow or did it freeze... so i know if it needs just a bit of optimization or is some fixing required...

v68 of the Configurator is out (at last)

Download here or use online update (via Actions menu)

Changes:
  • Options: new gui values
  • Options: gui_text_color_*, gui_window_color_*, gui_button_*, gui_bar
  • Feature: New Gui Menu Wizard (for above options)
  • Feature: Loading a theme file from a 'themes' directory sets default base directory

This is a pretty huge update with the new wizard. Here's a screenshot to show you how it looks:
guimenuwiz-1.png

The buttons simulate like they would in Cfg to a degree except for the flash effect on button clicks and the progressive zoom/shrink on hover. Check it out with the circles theme included in Cfg v68 and start tweaking on your own if you like.

This should really help with the creation of themes for Cfg's menu and to work out what the new options in v68 do.

Usage is fairly straight forward, except to know that you can double-click any button to set it into inactive mode or return to normal operation.

There are still some things I want to do when I find some more time (which may be a while). These include:
  • Speeding up the drawing code to improve performance
  • Addition of a barebones image editor to at least let you see how button and window images are partitioned for scaling with perhaps being able to edit inside the Configurator
  • Addition of Tooltips where necessary
  • Addition of the flash state for buttons (on click)
  • Addition of the new images to the Install All dialog
  • Allowing translation of the new stuff

Please test it out. It is available on the Menu or the button on the new Theme Options 4 tab. I welcome comments and feedback and I'm sure I've left a few bugs in there for you guys to find too

Just an addendum to the Configurator updates now that GBATemp is back up, online updates via the Configurator itself are now fixed.

I've tried both 68 and 68d and with a classic controller plugged in the cursor always heads towards the bottom right corner of the screen when it should be still. The left stick on the controller is fine as the Wii menu is unaffected. I don't recall the last version I used having this problem (65 or 66).

Classic controllers are rarely calibrated correctly, programs that use them should do their own form of calibration on startup/when the extension is detected.

I have used the cfg usb loader for a long time.
Thanks oggzee for your great job.

I have a little problem about cfg today.
The number of games within setting.cfg file seems to have the limitation? (500, right?)
I can't setup any game again?

Can you fix this, or what I missed...
Thanks again

Yes there is that limitation, I can raise it but I didn't think it would ever be necessary.
The idea was that the default game settings can be used by 95% of the games and you would need to save the settings only for the games that don't work with the default setup.
Looks like you have saved the setting for each game even if it is not changed compared to the default options?

Thanks for your explaination.
Since I have many games. (close to 1000)
Indeed, most "J" version's games didn't need to setup.
The "E" and "P" version's games were just the opposite condition.
Most of them need setup for correct display mode or function correctly or return to cfg smoothly.
I think the limitation number(500) is very close to my need.

Thanks anyway.

Thanks!!

Oggzee, couldn't he use a different profile for "E" and "P" games?
