I know this probably isn't the right thread to post this but as I'm not sure where the problem lies I'm trying to cover all of the angles.
I had a wbfs fomatted mactor portable basics (fully compatible) working perfectly with all my games. Yesterday I decided to reformat the drive as fat32(32KB if it makes any difference) Cause I thought It would be good to have the extra space available for whatever I could need and seeing as the fat32 support is fully developed by now (I had WBFS since this whole softmod thing started...)
Anyways, long story short it took me FOREVER to backup the games to my hdd, reformat the external drive and then move the backed up games from my hdd to my external AGAIN just to find out my wii doesn't recognize it!!!... The external is the same, the games are the same. Everythings the same.
I'm using the latest revs of everything (at least what modmii downloads for me...) and CFG loader.
Apps stored in the usb drive are not recognized either...
What could be wrong and can you think of something to fix it? (Please don't tell me to reformat my drive again cause I think I'd rather kick myself in the nuts than going through that again...)
Thanks in advance.

PS: I formatted and managed the backups with Wii Bakcup Manager (latest version)
try updating your cios with modmii

Tx for responding. I already did that. A couple of days ago (before even reformatting my external, just to "be sure") It seems I wasn't so sure after all cause it isn't working : (

what is this new wiixplorer is it better than the ucxf cfg usb loader channel? is teh wiixplorer faster? im soo confused
Some people have slowdowns in the current forwarder, the current one is basing on wiimc. This one is basing on wiixplorer, it will fix the loading problem for these people, so only use it if you have slowdowns.

I'm having a black screen problem when loading my games

I just created the forwarders for most of my games and a couple of days ago, most of them wont load. They just suck on a black screen and i'm forced to hard reboot my Wii. I used Crap 3.3b to create them as well as install them. Most of the channels where installed under cios 222, cuz the Crap 3.3b installer was having problem with 249 and 250, might that be the cause???

Any idea why is this, some times the forwarder works fine, sometimes it doesn't work at all. Most of the time happens with Smash Brothers, Call of Dutty Black Ops, Guitar Hero 5 and GoldenEye. Currently, i'm on CFGLoader 61 and CIOS rev 20, planning on updating today

Hi FIX94. The new one (v3) fixed the issues and runs fine.

cfg v63 (release)
Cfg_USB_Loader_63.zip
Changes:

10-01-2011 cfg v63 (release)
* Minor cleanups
* Full package changes: covers/2d, Languages -> languages
Could the new configurator check for the 2d covers folder? With Configurator v63.1 I had to select the 2d folder manually (otherwise it downloads all the 2d covers again).
Thanks.

Oh yeah, thanks. Completely forgot to change the cover wizard. New version soon.

Back to the old icon and no splash screen...but looks as fast as it was before! Nice job. Thanks FIX94.

Just like when you "Safely remove" a USB pen in Windows, it would surely lessen some data corruption problems, I guess!

Hey, oggzee!
smile.gif

Do you think a "Shutdown" option inside CFG (to un-mount the HDD properly) would be a useful thing to add?

If I return to CFG (to the games list) and turn off the Wii, the HDD still does that weird sound, meaning that it was being accessed when it was shut down...
frown.gif
Well cfg isn't reading from the drive if it is just sat at the menu, so I'm not sure how. Are you sure the drive doesn't just make that noise as it parks the heads before powering off?

"Safely remove" in windoze just makes sure there is no access to the drive before you remove it. As long as there is no access then there will be no corruption if you don't use "Safely remove"
I double-checked... If I shutdown the Wii while in the CFG game selection screen, the HDD still makes that sound...
frown.gif

Shutting down from the Wii System Menu, it doesn't...
wacko.gif

Maybe it is continuously fetching some information about the games inside the HDD?
rolleyes.gif

Any more thoughts about the usefulness of a "Shutdown" option inside CFG?

cfg v64a (alpha)
cfg64a.dol
cfg64a-222.dol
(or online update)
Changes:

cfg v64a (alpha)
* Support for ID4 wiitdb entries (wiiware)
* Fixed unnecessary re-downloading of HQ full covers when they already exist
* Better HTTP error reporting when downloading cover fails

I have read that Hermes v5.1 with a base of 37 is now better supported in CFG than v4. Is this true? Should I expect better compatibility? Faster speed? All of the above?

Hey guys, here is a new forwarder update, we are now on v8!

Features:
-NTFS, FAT32, ext2,ext3 and ext4 parition support
-IOS58 for USB 2.0 speed
-Can load from USB and SD
-Can load dol and elf files
-meta.xml arguments support
-Now using WiiXplorer forwarder base

Download:
USBLoaderCFG - UCXF - IOS58 v8.wad
USBLoaderCFG - UCXF - IOS58 v8 Alternative.wad (Now using the animated icon)
USBLoaderCFG - UCXF - IOS58 v8 dol.7z

Ext2,ext3 and ext4 parition rules:
The file must be in "apps/usbloader" or "apps/usbloader_cfg". It doesn't work for example if the file is in "apps/USBLoader".
Folder and Files must have execute or read permissions for everyone, otherwise the forwarder will return to system menu.

@Everyone with the old loading issue:
Please report if it still works!
@Dr. Clipper and oggzee:
You can add it, thanks.
