Firstly kudos to the guys who spent their time and effort to write CFG USB loader and also the configurator for CFG..... two top pieces of software!
yaywii.gif

Just a quick question, I've been trying to set the location of the covers to point to my USB HD, I know you have to edit the config.txt file and add in the line:
covers_path = xyz

all my covers are currently sitting on a FAT partition and I've tried using:
covers_path = fat1:/covers
covers_path = fat:/covers
covers_path = fat1:covers

but none of them seem to work...... is it possible to load the covers from USB?
I basically have 1x FAT, 1x NTFS and 1x WBFS partitions on my HD

Only cos i've got a small measly 2GB SD card and it's quite full..... >_

So you don't feel any kind of speed issue when moving across game covers? It's strange because this is the first time I feel it. It isn't a big deal anyways.

Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPGhaeMdRoQ

Ps: The slow times are slower that it appears in the video.
Looks normal for me...

Do you see slowdowns?

I don't see slowdowns in yours. Anyways this isn't a bother honestly.

ps:What cios are you using?

Yes! Topic 1:
Do you mean the time from starting the channel up to the splash or the loading time from the splash screen?Time from starting the channel up to the splash... It's really weird and it should be related to the forwarder, as running it from HBC has no issue...@FIX94: Any idea why this slowdown of the forwarder channel is happening?

@Anyone: didn't this happen to anyone else?

Topic 2:
This is the alternative design version, try it out and you will hear and see the difference
yaywii.gif
Come on... It's just a matter of appearance when loading?
@Anyone: what is this alternative about?

Hard to say, do you also have this slowdown in the latest wiimc forarder channel? Could you install the wiimc forwarder channel and try it out? Thanks.

Doesn't happen to me.
If you go back a version (63b3) does it work normally again?
And if you again try 63b4 is it repeatable?
btw, you're holding the dpad right button there to move the covers?
Not using the wiimote pointer position to move the covers... Just want to make sure.

A one more question.. My Wii is kinda old and it has 3.2 (E) FW if I recall ( I can't check it atm because my power cord is broken) and it has been hacked with Twilight hack and it has a homebrew channel but not any brick-protection or anything so I'm asking if I update to 4.2 it WON'T brick my console and it wipes all the previous "hacking data" and I can start by a clean a table?

Thaanks

Just go to the wii hacking section and get modmii, tell it your wii is in a virgin state and follow the directions from there. Very easy and simple to use and does all the proper downloading for you.

You 100% positive if I choose my Wii is a virgin it won't cause any damage when installing stuff? I just want to be sure..

And should I choose 4.1 fw? It says it's recommended

I have an external HDD with a WBFS partition for games and a FAT32 partition for CFG loader and covers. After upgrading to version 62, CFG Loader causes my Wii to freeze (with a blinking disc slot) every time it tries to write to the FAT32 partition (when downloading covers or saving settings). Is this a common issue people have had before. Will setting the partition's Security settings using Windows help? What else might be causing the issue?

It will be fine, unless you don't follow the directions it gives you. If you don't believe me then post in the modmii topic and everyone will tell you the same. I have done it over my already softmodded 4.0 wii and I am sitting on 4.2u right now. Which of the 3 system menus you pick are up to you though.

The slow moving covers at specific points in coverflow3D is happening to me as well. It seems to be wiitdb related though because when I delete my wiitdb everything is fine, but as soon as I restore it the problem is back. Also, it happens regardless if I'm using the d-pad or the pointer to cycle through the covers and 63b3 works just fine without having to delete my wiitdb. On a positive note however, it's awesome being able to read the entire game synopsis. Thanks for all the hard work!!

Maybe you have the same issue as me. I'm running the loader from SD but the config folder is on HDD. The forwarder starts, shows a black screen for about 20 seconds and then shows the loaders' splash - do you have a similar setup?

I think the configurator should really be for the advanced users
How so? "Advanced users" will just edit the config files in a text editor. The config app is more for new users.

I do agree that a few more options could/should be accessible by CFG itself.

Yes, but 4.1 doesn't have any advantage, other than access to the SD card in the System Menu. 3.2 will work fine, as long as you add any recent IOS to the system.

I'd go with 4.1 rather than 4.2 BTW - 4.2/4.3 add absolutely nothing but restrictions.
