I'm having some problems with CFG USB loader:
What IOS are you using to load games? Try using IOS222 on Monster Hunter Tri if you're not already. Also, is your Hermes v4 or v5? v5 is the latest but v4 is usually recommended.

Thanks PsyBlade and SquareWheel
As I said before, I'm using the latest IOS and tried both versions (222 and 249)
I'll try switching Hermes to v4 and Waninkoko to rev20
Also going to try the new version of Cfg and the wiimms wwt.
I'll reply after I have done this.

I want to report some things:
- With 57, I tried CIOSX rev20 in slot 250 with base 37 with Monster Hunter Tri, all works ok, except that i noticed a lag when you are online (dunno if also in offline), but that wasn't a internet problem, because doesn't lag like that. I tried with 222 Hermes v4 and all ok.
- In the translation there is a some things untranslated yet:
. In Write Playlog: On, Off, Japanese Title and English Title.
. In Language: Console Def., Japanese, French, Spanish, etc..
. In Video: System Def. Game Default, Force PAL50, Force PAL60 and Force NTSC.
. Also Cheats is the only part of options that doesn't have this: < XXXXXX >
Has something like this:

BTW, some ideas to future updates:
1- I know this was asked, but.. with languages, will be more easy to download finished translation in CFG USB Loader automatically?
Yeah, the thing is host the files, but if updates are able to be downloaded like that, a translation cannot be impossible.
My idea is the translators upload the files to a host and download the files there in the same form as updates.
2- A way to be able to use a opening.bnr as default if you play a game that doesn't have Write Playlog activated.
This will be good to not log "USB Loader" (if you have a forwarder) in Message Board and log something specific that you want.
For example, you have a opening.bnr of Super Smash Bros. Brawl and you play another game that doesn't have the Write Playlog option ON.
You play that game and exit to the menu, you will have Super Smash Bros. Brawl logged in Message Board and not USB Loader.

Is there anyway to track play history (For use with NCard)?
Doesn't the N-Card App on the Wii use your Message Board log to keep track of played games? If so, then the write_playlog option is all you need.

About Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands again:
I remember Wanin said some time ago while the was coding and testing CIOSXrev20 that he has no problem with the new "protection" system of PoP and he can play it without wip/patches/workaraounds/whatever.
Game runs fine when "Clear Patches" is on.
Now after the release of cIOSXrev20 I wanted to see if Wanins promise is true but I can not confirm it. PoP freezes without "Clear Patches on" using 249rev20base57.

To confirm if the new cios prevents cios detection, you'll have to use the disable_pop_patch and leave clear_patches on.

I was reading the other thread where people were saying base 56 is the best for rev20.
I was using base 57 and CFG58a and everything was sweet.. so i installed 249 with a base on 56 and CFG wouldn't find my hard drive.
I reinstalled base 57 and everythings fine again.. strange!.. first problem i've ever had!

Installed 56 to 250 instead, and ran the games using 250 and they worked.. so i dunno whats up there?!

TheRealVisitor try that. The game checks for certain module names in the IOS, and freezes if it finds them, the .wip patch changes that check to look for other (non existant) module names. cIOSrev20 should hide all modules that are not available on regular IOS => The game should work with the .wip files. But: The game still checks if the .dol was modified, and if it is, it freezes again. The area the .wip patches modify are about the only area of the .dol that does not trigger this protection.

@Team CFG: Waninkoko said something that this "module hiding" is enabled automatically on a certain event, but i forgot which one. So if you get trouble accessing IOS modules after doing *whatever*, you have an idea what's happening.

@Team CFG: In this configuration, what does CFG do? Load IOS249, spin up the HDD, select which game to play, then load IOS250?
If yes, i'm thinking about an option like "Startup HDD with IOS X", "Play games with IOS Y" (which you would have already, but it could be stressed for people with HDD problems)

the cios basically just checks if a game is running. if it is, then the modules will refuse to open. IE, IOS_Open("dev/mload"...) will not work when a game is being played. the 3 modules that PoP checks for all behave like this. so, there is no need to patch the game or anything like that. it just works.

PoP works for me both with and without the PoP patch enabled and with and without Clear Patches on (but trying to make other patches will still kill it of course).

Yes, that's how it works, but you would have to select the alternate IOS for every game. We have been considering allowing the default IOS for the games to be different to the loader IOS, but it was hard to come up with a clear reason where somebody would benefit. This now seems to be the case, and we're already going to be changing the code to support the other slots properly, so a new option will probably appear soon.

@Chebico, can you try adding ios=250 to config.txt? It will load 249 and then switch to 250 during startup. It will be interesting to see if that works for you.

Yes, it worked fine!
Saves me manually changing every IOS to 250 now.

Thanks alot!

Dr. Clipper, possibly this won't make a notice, but here it goes, a good option for CFG USB Loader can be the automatic download of cheat codes for all games in hard disk, or, an automatic update for current cheat codes installed, either can be grateful.

Hope this helps grow the best USB loader in the scene.

Maybe you misunderstood me or I misunderstand you but here is what I have/use:
- Clean/unmodified PAL PoP Image on a WBFS USB HDD.
- CFGLoader 58a
- 4.2E Wii with cIOS249rev20base57.
- unmodified config.txt
- no wip files
- no orcania

Game freezes when clear patches is "off" in PoP. When is set to "all" it runs fine.

So my question was if this should be like that or not with the new cIOS249rev20?

All replies you have received from me, dr.clipper and wiipower are valid.
So, again, you must leave the clear patches option enabled.
And set this option: disable_pop_patch=1
If it still works it means the cios detection was prevented by rev20.

If you have to set clear patches to all to get it to work and you have an unchanged config.txt (and thus no return_to_channel) then you must have changed one of the other patches in the per-game options. Do any of the other options change value when you switch the Clear Patches option from on to all? The 'all' value disables the video, video_patch, language, vidtv, country_patch, fix_002, block_ios_reload and ocarina options in addition to what the 'on' value disables (return_to_channel and disable_dvd_patch).

OK thanks, now I understand. Now I set clear patches to "on", configured return_to_channel and it runs fine.
