Id like to see in this avalanche of versions modifications such as each game shows only the supported languages and not a static list regardless that the game contains it.

Thx.

Yesterday I showed a friend CFG USB Loader. I modded his black Wii and installed the loader.

By default the flow-mode is active. Everything works fine and looks great.

But as soon as we switched to a Game to start it or see it's options, the picture shrunk. There was a black bar just at the bottom.

I didn't observe this on my old 4:3 TV Set with my white Wii. But when we had his black Wii connected to my TV the bar appeared.

The strange thing about this is: I simply copied my Loader and settings to his SD Card and hard disk. So they should be identical.

Does anybody know of this problem or has a hint what to change?

Check if config.txt has this option:

widescreen = auto, 0, 1
Auto will use the Wii's setting to determine which mode to use, although you can force one or the other (1=widescreen, 0=4:3).

Okay... It's not in there. And both Wiis were set to 4:3.

He didn't know he could switch the Wii to 16:9

I changed that yesterday when I brought him back his Wii. But the black bar appears whether the Wii is set to 4:3 or 16:9.

That's v67c or earlier, right?
If the wii is set to 576i mode then the console has the black bar at the bottom yes, that was since always.
Either set the mode to 480p or 480i or upgrade to v68b2 which uses the gui mode when a game is selected so the screen doesn't shrink....

Correct!

576i = 50Hz, 480=60Hz?

That explains it! My Wii is set to 60Hz, his Wii to 50Hz.

Thanks a lot!

BTW: Where could/should (should I?) post ideas for the Loader?

That must be a very old TV, no 60Hz support... I also had a 50Hz TV years ago and I had the same problem with the black stripe with 60Hz gamecube games

Of course it has 60Hz Support but he didn't switch his Wii to 60Hz.

My idea is to have user specific favourite lists in the Loader. My son likes other games than I do. Having a list of our own would make it easier finding games.

o...kay...

Hmmm.... Couldn't find it except if you meant the possibility of having different config files, depending on from where te loader was started. I thought of something switchable inside the loader, but it might help.

Great! And now I know why I didn't find it:

"Profiles - aka multiple favorite groups" -> I searched for "favourite"

Iwill never manage the differences between UK/US/other english

In gui mode, press down direction on the direccional button over A in ur Wiimote. Each click changes a mode at a time.

Thanks a lot Oggzee... better and even better...

Just one hint: is it possible in the startup screen to show some more infos on the loaded cIOS?
"249" gives few infos... better be "cIOS249 rev21 base56"... but I do not know whether or not it is possible... we already discussed this...
