Hardware Computer won't read hardmodded New 3ds XL

Hi all,

I just finished doing the hardware portion of my hardmod on a New 3ds XL. I've removed the game cart, SD card, plugged unit into the SD card reader ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D50UNRM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ), booted up, and gotten a blue screen response with

00F800FE 00000000 00000000 00000400 00000000

I plugged the card reader into my computer (win10), and it recognized 2 new drives, but doesn't "see" a disk in the new drives (O:\ and P:\ , so I can't proceed with win32diskimager. Never asked me if I wanted to format my new drive.

I've wired up a second fake SD card, and tried different USB ports, but I can't seem to get anywhere. Can anyone help me out?

Is this card reader in the list? I guess the card reader isn't working with your device properly.

I was reading that not all sd to usb adapters work. Do you have another sd card reader you can try?

For sure not all readers work... Best one seems to be the Anker witch is in the supported list.

With the Anker I have done lots and lots of all models. Works a 100%

In my experience waiting more than a second or two after turning the 3ds on before plugging in the usb adapter causes this. Try doing that part faster before purchasing anything else.
