Complete Restore (help)

    Ok so i am about to completely restore my computer and start over so i want to know if there is a way to 1.Backup my programs. 2.Do this without the

    installation disc. I already have all my music and pics and stuff. I need help. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

    why you backup your system? if got problems is better do a clean installation. otherwise when you restore you still have original problems.
    most programs save data in my documents folder, you can save this folder

    shrink your windows partition go to you user folder and cut all that and copy to the new partition on the drive

    You can't really back up programs without a lot of work, as a program could be anything from a few files, to a few files and registry entries, to files, registry entries, and virtual device drivers.

    Just reinstall the programs afterwards.

    I restored my computer didnt even take that long to reinstall my programs haha saved a lot of space

    just re download the setup programs and copy them to a disc in case you ever need to do this again then copy the file over from the disc run it and install

    i did but i didnt put them on a disk i just put them on my external HDD much easier
