Hacking Code error 160-1400

Today I just turn on the Wii U and appeared an error code message that never appeared on the Wii U.

It says:

There is a problem with the optical disk drive

Code error 160-1400

99.99.99U WUP-101(2) FW401571338 DAA1-0211-2175

Since I use CBHC 5.5.3 for many years without any problems, I never use a physical game disk, and never has an CD on the Wii U, so I dont understand why there is an error with the optical disk drive.

Anyone can help me on disk rare Wii U error Code???

Really?? The difference is that I use my Wii U almost every day, and just today happend this....... I have no connection with internet......so I think is just casual that this happened to both of us the same day.........

Anyone have the same error and possible solutions?

If you use CBHC to boot into the Homebrew Launcher (which should prevent a custom firmware from being launched) does the error still appear? In this case, the error should be showing your console's actual firmware version rather than 99.99.99.

Same here! Fired up the WiiU today.. haven’t played on it for a few months.. haven’t used the disc drive in years.. games are in USB.

As soon as it hits the WiiU screen. bam, black screen and the error.


Extra weird, as I baby this console physically.. and almost never use it.

No, I keep it offline.. haven’t updated in a while..

Wanna say 5.5.3. I kicked it offline after that update.. have played a few times since June without issue.

I’m in NA.. so I assume console is the same.

I just checked my system. no errors or anything. I play the wii u daily too, and I'm on 5.5.1.

It's a problem related to the disc reader, just clean it and it would work again, it's a weird semibrick,so stop letting your Wii U getting dust,I didn't know about that either but one day this Spanish video appeared on my recommendation and since that day I'll make sure my Wii U is clean
