Yeah I don't really see the connection to quake. And I'm assuming you are referring to quake 3 as that probably had the most "vivid" colour our of the original three.

Go back and play quake 3. It is a pretty brown game with just a little bit of bright colour (mostly red) thrown in.

This trailer reminds me of unicorn crap.
