Not really.
If it fails to start, try again. It's not likely to fail halfway through is it??
Once the function pointer is dereferenced, it won't return to where it was until after it's done executing the whole of it's parts. It's more to avoid "DEADCAFEHAX NO WORK WAT DO!??!?!?!?!" when it's ready. (Not that it will stop that!)

Well i'm willing to learn. Don't just dismiss my point because i don't understand your logic. Enlighten me.

This will mess up your system if it fails the downgrade. It's writing system files to get you to 9.2.

As it is right now? It will not harm your system, as it's not messing with the system itself.

The homebrew launcher isn't the same thing. If this fails to load while executing? Your system is sol.
You don't get it...
This is really only the case if it has to do the exploit for each and every CIA in the downgrade. However, once you own the ARM11 kernel, you shouldn't have to do it again until you're all done and let the kernel return to where it was before. it's a little safer than you assume.

Right but arent the current issues with it loading in the first place? If it fails that, just retry. If it fails halfway through, that's a completely different story..

Oh. My. God.

I've got the two confused.

@Jackus, I'm sorry. I was thinking of the actual downgrade app.

so the full release needs to be much more stable as theres no way to back up nand on 10.3

The downgrade is only going to be dangerous and brick your system if you give it the wrong firmware files. If that happens, that's on your head so exercise caution and make sure you have the right firmware when it's ready!
