I'm really glad to see this being worked on!! I'm trading in my 3DS on Amazon, since I barely use it and I need to replace my ceiling fan... lol I would probably like to continue Fire Emblem though, I don't mind waiting a while for this to develop though! I might just play the Gamecube FE. ;)

Any grunt labor that could be done for the not so programming inclined?

AFAIK there's currently not really much that needs to be done other than programming though. In any case you might just want to join IRC and lurk around to follow development discussions.

The GameCube FE is one of my favorites in the series :) There's also a TON of very fun romhacks for the series, with lots of complete overhauls/new games by Japanese fans, and some smaller/fewer ones by English and other fans as well.

Hey Neobrain, I was just wondering if any of the recent rom hacking has led to any progress in citra?

The eshop has some rather odd stuff on there, I suppose would be basic to emulate. Many of the education games for example. Nothing anyone would want to emulate, mind.

Doubtful. Even if they aren't as graphically/gameplay intesive as retail games, they'd still use a lot of the same system stuff as the normal commercial games.

Nope, check back in 2 or 3 years

I think that would depend on your definition of "play". For example, does it have to be actually winnable or is merely getting past the title screen and being able to do stuff in game, even if it crashes the minute you leave the first area, considered "playable". For example, with the PS3 emulator there is only one game listed that can be played from start to finish without major glitches (fully playable) but there are a ton of "half-playable" games that while you can get past the start screen and play them to various degrees it is impossible to complete the game due to crashes or other issues.

Of course, "running" commercial games will probably come even sooner assuming you count something like "The game shows the intro images/videos correctly or even reaches the main menu, nothing else." as "running".
